About Fiscal 12

Fiscal 12 is a strategic accounting and finance partner to growing manufacturing businesses in the United States. We help our clients strengthen financial operations, improve visibility into profitability and cash flow, and make better business decisions.

Our team works across multiple client engagements, providing accounting, financial reporting, inventory and cost accounting, financial planning, and advisory support. We're building a team of professionals who are curious, analytical, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering work that makes a meaningful difference to the businesses we support.

The role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting Analyst – Manufacturing Accounting & Financial Operations to support the accounting and financial operations of our manufacturing clients.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations and supporting schedules, contributing to month-end close activities, and supporting accounting processes involving inventory, costing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

You'll work closely with experienced accounting and finance professionals while gaining exposure to the financial and operational complexities of manufacturing businesses. We're looking for someone who doesn't just complete assigned tasks but takes ownership of their work, understands the numbers behind the transactions, and follows issues through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Core Accounting & Month-End Close

  • Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Support monthly close activities and the preparation of accurate financial statements.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and capitalization.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and review-ready accounting workpapers.
  • Address review comments promptly and ensure assigned deliverables are completed within agreed timelines.

2. Manufacturing Accounting, Inventory & Costing

  • Support inventory reconciliations and investigate differences between accounting and operational records.
  • Assist with work-in-progress (WIP) accounting, job costing, and cost allocation.
  • Support the review of inventory valuations, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing-related accounting entries.
  • Assist in identifying inventory and costing discrepancies that may affect financial reporting or profitability.
  • Work with client teams to obtain and validate information required for accurate accounting.

3. Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Support accounts payable processes, including invoice validation, vendor reconciliations, and payment documentation.
  • Assist with purchase order matching and invoice approval controls.
  • Monitor accounts receivable balances, aging reports, and collections-related accounting issues.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies involving customer and vendor accounts.
  • Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for financial transactions.

4. Internal Controls & Process Improvement

  • Follow established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Identify accounting process gaps, recurring errors, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the documentation and implementation of accounting workflows and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate task updates, documentation, and deadlines in the company's workflow management systems.

5. Collaboration & Client Delivery

  • Work collaboratively with Client Leads and other team members across multiple client engagements.
  • Communicate outstanding issues, dependencies, and potential delays proactively.
  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities from preparation through review and completion.
  • Support client reporting and respond to accounting-related requests in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications & Experience
Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit, or financial operations.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP or demonstrated ability to apply relevant accounting standards.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyze and reconcile financial data.
  • Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Odoo, or similar platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a remote environment.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, or other inventory-intensive businesses.
  • Familiarity with inventory accounting, WIP, job costing, or standard costing.
  • Progress toward a professional accounting qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or CPA.
  • Experience working with U.S.-based businesses or outsourced accounting teams.
  • Exposure to ERP systems and accounting workflow management tools.

What Success Looks Like
In this role, success means:

  • Accounting reconciliations and workpapers are accurate, complete, and ready for review.
  • Month-end deliverables are completed on time, with outstanding issues communicated early.
  • Accounting discrepancies are investigated rather than simply carried forward.
  • Review feedback is addressed promptly, and work is followed through to completion.
  • Inventory, costing, and other manufacturing accounting activities are supported with reliable financial information.
  • Client Leads can confidently rely on the quality, accuracy, and completeness of your work.

What We Offer

  • Exposure to a diverse portfolio of U.S. manufacturing businesses.
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing accounting, inventory, costing, and financial operations.
  • Opportunities to work with experienced finance professionals and develop specialized technical skills.
  • Structured learning, mentorship, and professional development.
  • A collaborative, remote-first work environment.
  • Opportunities for career growth into senior accounting, financial operations, and advisory roles.

Who Will Thrive at Fiscal 12?
You'll enjoy working with us if you are someone who:

  • Takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Is naturally curious and wants to understand why the numbers look the way they do.
  • Takes initiative rather than waiting to be reminded.
  • Communicates openly when something is unclear or at risk.
  • Enjoys solving problems and improving how work gets done.
  • Values teamwork, accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth.

At Fiscal 12, we believe good accounting goes beyond recording transactions. It's about creating reliable financial information that helps businesses operate better and make smarter decisions.
