Show job description

Accelecom is a fiber-optic broadband and managed network services provider operating across Georgia, Kentucky, and the broader Southeast. Fact-based continuous improvement drives our decision-making, and we are seeking the right individual to own our business intelligence platform. This is an ideal role for innovation, nimble proactive thought, room for growth and impact, and energy and spirit to drive AI safely into our everyday processes and outputs.

The role has deliberately been scoped toward data engineering and modeling rather than visualization alone. The hard problem at Accelecom is not building a chart. It is reconciling data across Rev.io, 3GIS, Site Tracker, ArcGIS, and our OSS/BSS systems into a trusted, well-defined model that the whole company can reason from. We expect this person to own that model.

This position is a hybrid role with 3 days in our Sandy Springs office expected to nourish team and relationship building. The role supports the full Accelecom footprint, including our Kentucky operations. Travel to Kentucky of up to 10% should be expected.

Key Responsibilities

Own the Data Foundation

  • Design and maintain Accelecom’s enterprise analytics data model in Databricks, integrating data from Rev.io, 3GIS, Site Tracker, ArcGIS, Salesforce, and financial systems.

  • Build and manage scalable data pipelines, transformations, testing frameworks, and documentation.

  • Partner with OSS/BSS and business stakeholders to ensure data quality, consistency, and readiness for reporting.

Define Trusted Metrics

  • Establish and govern company-wide KPI definitions and reporting standards.

  • Translate business requirements into scalable analytics solutions.

  • Drive data governance and support Accelecom's Operations Science methodology.

Deliver Business Intelligence

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and self-service analytics solutions in Tableau.

  • Own BI platform administration, including security, performance, monitoring, upgrades, and user access.

  • Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and availability of leadership-facing reporting.

Documentation & Governance

  • Maintain documentation for data lineage, business rules, metric definitions, and platform dependencies.

  • Enforce data security, governance, and CPNI compliance standards.

  • Support disaster recovery and operational continuity through thorough documentation and knowledge sharing.

Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Leverage AI-assisted tools and automation to improve development efficiency and platform management.

  • Develop API-based automation for monitoring, auditing, and deployment processes.

  • Evaluate and recommend future analytics platform investments and strategy.

• 4+ years building and maintaining production analytics environments, including direct ownership of data models rather than dashboard development alone.

• Advanced SQL. You should be comfortable reading, debugging, and optimizing complex queries against large tables.

• Hands-on experience with Databricks or a comparable lakehouse platform, including Spark SQL, Delta tables, and job orchestration.

• Demonstrated Tableau proficiency across development and administration: LOD expressions, extracts and live connections, published data sources, permissions, and Tableau Server or Cloud site administration.

• Python for scripting, data manipulation, and API automation.

• Experience integrating data from REST APIs, relational and NoSQL stores, flat files, and semi-structured sources.

• Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business questions into defensible technical specifications, and to push back when a requested metric is the wrong one.

• Strong written communication. Documentation is a deliverable in this role, not an afterthought.

• Experience working with sensitive customers or financial data under access controls and data-protection policies.

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
