Senior Java Production Support / SRE Engineer

Location: Colombia (Preferred) or Mexico

Work Mode: 100% Remote

Work Hours: US Eastern Time


Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Java Production Support / SRE Engineer to support a cloud-based microservices platform. The ideal candidate should have strong Java development skills, production support experience, and hands-on expertise with Azure and Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle L3/L4 production incidents, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Debug and fix Java microservices using Spring Boot and Quarkus.
  • Monitor applications using Azure Application Insights and Dynatrace.
  • Manage and troubleshoot applications running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and manage production deployments.
  • Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in application code and container images.
  • Manage ServiceNow change requests and coordinate production releases.
  • Apply SRE practices, including SLI/SLO monitoring, incident prevention, and automation.
  • Collaborate with development, cloud, security, and infrastructure teams.

Required Skills

  • 6+ years of experience in application support, software development, or SRE.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Quarkus.
  • Experience debugging and fixing production code.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Azure Application Insights and Dynatrace.
  • Knowledge of Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with ServiceNow change management.
  • Understanding of SRE principles, incident management, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Apache Camel and Kafka.
  • Azure networking and cloud infrastructure.
  • Container security and vulnerability remediation.
  • CyberArk, Helm, Terraform, or Bicep.
  • Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting.

Preference: Colombia candidates are the first priority. Mexico candidates can also be considered.
