The Company

An established specialist supplier of construction equipment and temporary works solutions, supporting contractors across the residential and commercial construction sectors.

The business provides premium solutions for concrete construction projects and is continuing to develop its presence in the Irish market. They are now looking to appoint a commercially driven Area Sales Manager to develop relationships with contractors and grow sales across the Greater Dublin Area.

The Role

This is a field-based sales position focused on selling and hiring specialist formwork and falsework systems used in concrete construction.

You'll work primarily with small and medium-sized contractors involved in residential and commercial projects, building relationships with contracts managers, procurement teams and site managers.

The role offers a balanced mix of new business development and account management, with approximately 50% of your time dedicated to each. You'll focus on developing opportunities across mid-sized construction projects, complementing an existing team that manages larger projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop new business opportunities across the Greater Dublin Area
  • Manage and grow relationships with existing contractor accounts
  • Identify upcoming residential and commercial construction projects
  • Promote specialist formwork and falsework solutions
  • Build relationships with contracts managers, procurement teams and site managers
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales through mid-sized construction projects
  • Manage the sales process from initial enquiry through to securing business
  • Work closely with internal teams to develop suitable customer solutions
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and achieve agreed commercial targets

Career Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist construction solutions business offering premium products and strong technical support.

You'll have ownership of a defined territory, with the opportunity to build relationships across the contractor market and develop a substantial portfolio of customers. The role has a clear focus on growing sales through mid-sized projects, giving you the opportunity to make a direct impact on the company's commercial performance.

Full product training and a structured onboarding programme will be provided, so the company is open to strong salespeople from related construction product sectors.

The Person

We're looking for a confident, organised and commercially minded salesperson with at least two years' field sales experience.

Experience selling construction products to contractors would be advantageous, particularly within formwork, scaffolding, tools, building materials or related technical products. However, the business is more focused on your ability to sell, build relationships and develop new business than on having specific formwork experience.

You'll ideally have:

  • At least two years' experience in field sales
  • Experience selling to contractors or other construction customers
  • Strong business development and account management skills
  • Confidence engaging with contracts managers, procurement teams and site managers
  • A professional and credible approach to customer relationships
  • Strong organisation and territory management skills
  • The ability to identify opportunities and convert them into sales
  • A proactive, resilient and commercially focused mindset

The Package

  • €55,000–€65,000 basic salary
  • €10,000 performance-related bonus
  • Company car
  • Pension
  • Healthcare
  • Laptop and mobile phone
  • 23 days' annual leave
  • Product training and structured onboarding

Location

Greater Dublin Area

The role is field-based, with approximately four days per week spent visiting customers and one day working from home or the office. The territory covers Dublin and the surrounding areas, so candidates should be based within a reasonable commuting distance.
