Assistant Management Accountant
Core3 are delighted to partner with a fast-growing business in the renewable energy space to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant in Bristol. £30,000-£45,000 plus study support, private medical and hybrid working.
Why join our client?
Our client is an ambitious, fast-growing business in the renewable energy space, playing its part in the UK's move to clean energy. It's technology-forward, with a new ERP live and AI used right across the business, and the plan is to grow through better systems instead of simply adding headcount. Hybrid working, with three days a week in the office.
How you'll make an impact
Reporting to the CFO, you'll own the accounts inbox and accounts payable from day one, and grow into reviewing and improving the work as automation takes over the routine. It's a chance to help build a finance function of the future, and to see how AI agents are deployed in a real finance team early in your career.
- Own the shared accounts inbox, making sure every invoice, statement, remittance and query is routed, actioned and answered
- Code, enter and match supplier invoices, prepare payment runs and keep supplier accounts accurate
- Prepare month-end journals, accruals and prepayments, plus bank and supplier reconciliations
- Prepare VAT returns
- Support accounts receivable, expenses and payroll processing
- Help produce the management accounts and cost reporting
- Check and help tune the AI tools taking on the inbox and invoice processing, and review AI-prepared reconciliations
- Question how things are done and propose better ways of working
- Pull together information for the annual audit
Why our client is excited about you
Our client wants someone slightly ahead of the day-one job, with the reasoning to question numbers and the drive to grow with the role. You'll be happy rolling your sleeves up on the processing, because that's how you learn what correct looks like before you review the automated version.
- Part qualified (ACCA,CIMAor ACA), AAT qualified and ready to step up, or qualified and keen to help build a function
- Hands-on experience of AP, journals and reconciliations, with some month-end exposure
- Strong analytical and critical reasoning
- An interest in using AI at work (you don't need to be an expert)
- Accurate, organised and reliable, with real ownership of the numbers
- ERP experience (e.g. NetSuite or Sage) is a bonus
What you'll get in return
A rare chance to learn finance and AI side by side, working closely with the CFO, with a clear path to more analysis and responsibility as the business scales. The benefits for this Assistant Management Accountant in Bristol are:
- £30,000-£45,000 basic salary
- Study support, with fees and study leave towards ACCA or CIMA
- Private medical insurance
- Life assurance (3x salary)
- Pension (4% employer contribution)
- Hybrid working (3 days in the office)
We invite applications from all qualified candidates who believe they meet the requirements of the role, whilst supporting and promoting equality and diversity to create an inclusive working environment for all.
