Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer to join our Building Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to begin your career with a leading built environment consultancy, working on a diverse range of projects across sectors including healthcare, retail, commercial offices, education and public sector developments.
As part of our Future Professionals programme, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the delivery of M&E consultancy services, condition surveys, technical assessments and project work while developing your technical knowledge and professional skills. You will work alongside experienced engineers and consultants, receiving structured support and mentorship as you progress towards professional chartership.
The role offers excellent exposure to building services engineering, asset lifecycle planning, technical reporting and site inspections, providing a strong foundation for a successful career in the built environment.
Role Responsibilities

- Supporting the delivery of M&E condition surveys and technical inspections.
- Assisting with pre-acquisition and due diligence surveys.
- Contributing to dilapidations assessments and technical reviews.
- Supporting the preparation of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and lifecycle replacement plans.
- Undertaking site visits to inspect mechanical and electrical systems and assets.
- Assisting in the monitoring of M&E installations and construction works to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.
- Collecting, analysing and recording asset data and survey information.
- Preparing technical reports, survey findings and client deliverables under supervision.
- Working collaboratively with project managers, cost consultants and wider multidisciplinary teams.
- Supporting the delivery of projects in accordance with company procedures, quality standards and client requirements.
- Maintaining compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality management procedures.
- Developing an understanding of commercial, contractual and procurement principles within project delivery.
- Taking ownership of your professional development and working towards chartership.
Qualifications and Skills
Qualifications
- Degree (or expected degree) in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related discipline.
- A strong academic record and genuine interest in building services engineering.
- Working towards, or interested in pursuing, professional membership with CIBSE, IET or an equivalent professional body.
Skills & Experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to learning and professional development.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
- An interest in sustainable building design, engineering systems and the built environment.
