Interview date: Wednesday 11 November 2026

Make a meaningful difference to the education and future of vulnerable children and young people across Wiltshire. The Medical Needs Education and Reintegration Service (MNERS) is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Team Manager to help lead the delivery of high-quality education and reintegration support for children and young people who are unable to attend school because of medical or mental health needs.

Based within the Targeted Education Service, MNERS supports the Council in fulfilling its statutory duties under Section 19 of the Education Act 1996. Working closely with schools, families, health professionals and partner agencies, the service helps learners access suitable education, overcome barriers to attendance and successfully reintegrate into school or another appropriate setting.

In this new role, you will work alongside the MNERS Manager to provide effective day-to-day leadership across educational provision, safeguarding, complex casework and operational delivery. You will manage and support staff, build strong relationships with families and partner agencies, and use data and professional judgement to drive improvement, maintain high standards and secure positive outcomes for learners.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager with a strong understanding of education legislation, a commitment to inclusive practice and a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people whose education has been disrupted.
