The Associate Account Executive is a foundational commercial sales role for someone ready to build a career.
In this role, you will develop customer relationships, prospect for new business, grow an assigned portfolio, and build the commercial knowledge needed to succeed within the pharmaceutical industry. You will have measurable goals, real customer responsibility, and increasing independence as your capabilities grow.
We are looking for someone with work ethic, curiosity, accountability, and the drive to create opportunity. Pharmaceutical experience is not required. We can teach the industry; we are looking for someone willing to learn it, take ownership of their performance, and consistently get better.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Consistently prospect for new customers and build a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Develop and grow an assigned portfolio through strong relationships, responsiveness, and follow-through.
- Expand customer utilization of available products, services, and programs.
- Manage opportunities from prospecting and development through conversion and continued growth.
- Own assigned sales goals and KPIs and use performance information to adjust activity and priorities.
- Develop working knowledge of customers, products, markets, competitors, and pharmaceutical industry dynamics.
- Participate in pricing discussions within established parameters and develop commercial judgment.
- Maintain accurate CRM activity, opportunity, and customer information.
- Partner with Customer Service, Sales Operations Support, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Compliance, Analytics, and other teams to support customer needs and opportunities.
- Bring customer feedback, market trends, opportunities, and risks to leadership.
- Seek coaching, apply feedback, and demonstrate continued growth in independence and capability.
- Represent the organization with professionalism, integrity, accountability, and a customer-first mindset.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means consistently creating opportunities, building credible customer relationships, owning activity and results, and developing the commercial knowledge and judgment needed to operate with increasing independence. Strong Associate Account Executives are curious, coachable, resilient, accountable, and disciplined in prospecting and follow-through.
Job Requirements
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and motivation to deliver measurable results.
- Willingness to prospect and create new customer opportunities.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and follow-through skills.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn pharmaceutical products, customers, and markets.
- Coachability and the ability to apply feedback.
- Strong organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively across teams.
- Comfort learning CRM, reporting, and business systems.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent education, experience, or demonstrated capability will be considered.
- Prior sales or pharmaceutical industry experience is not required. Candidates with strong communication skills, initiative, and a demonstrated ability to learn and build relationships are encouraged to apply.
Scope of Role
The Associate Account Executive is an individual contributor responsible for customer development, new business generation, assigned account growth, and individual performance. The role does not have formal people-management responsibility and may support different markets, customer types, or portfolios based on business need.
Grow With Us
We believe strong performance should create opportunity. The Associate Account Executive is part of a defined commercial career path with opportunities to advance into Account Executive, Senior Account Executive, strategic enterprise roles, or future sales leadership as capabilities and responsibilities grow. Advancement is based on demonstrated performance, readiness, capability, and organizational opportunity - not tenure alone.

This role requires travel of up to 50% based on customer, market, industry event, and business needs.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary and bonus structure
- Comprehensive health, dental, and retirement plans
- Ongoing professional development opportunities
- A dynamic and collaborative work environment
