Who we are:

Superior Glove is a global leader in the design, manufacture and supply of innovative hand and arm protection. For more than 100 years, we’ve been focused on one goal: helping workers get home safe. Today, our global team works across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador, combining manufacturing expertise, innovation and a commitment to workplace safety.

The ideal candidate:

You are an experienced designer and project manager who can partner with the Design Strategist, Team Lead to develop multi-channel marketing design concepts and lead complex creative work from brief to delivery. You bring strong design judgment, advanced hands-on skills, sound project leadership, and the ability to explain decisions, guide designers, and collaborate across Marketing and other departments.

Superior Glove Works Ltd. is currently hiring for a Associate Design Strategist to work from its Global Headquarters in Acton, Ontario. A hybrid work model is available, with onsite attendance for collaboration and other activities as needed. Other work may be completed remotely. The onsite schedule may vary.

More about the role:

Reporting to the Design Strategist, Team Lead, this senior role develops design concepts and leads assigned projects across channels, combining hands-on design with associate-level art direction. The Team Lead retains overall ownership of creative direction. You will develop design concepts both independently and collaboratively, in addition to guiding and reviewing work by other designers, supporting brand consistency, and providing day-to-day creative direction and project coordination coverage during the Team Lead’s absences.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine graphic design concepts for campaigns, product launches, branding, and other marketing assets. Translate creative direction into cohesive visual systems across print, digital, social, video, web, email, events, and sales materials.
  • Design and produce high-quality creative assets across channels. Apply strong typography, layout, image selection, and visual communication principles, and prepare accurate production-ready files through proofing, revisions, final delivery, and handoff.
  • Lead assigned projects from brief and concept through approvals, production, and delivery. Plan timelines, coordinate inputs, prioritize work, and keep stakeholders informed of progress, decisions, and risks.
  • Coordinate contributions from designers, photographers, writers, and other creative partners. Facilitate reviews, give clear and constructive feedback, address issues, and keep work aligned with scope, objectives, and quality expectations.
  • Help maintain and evolve Superior Glove’s visual identity, brand guidelines, design systems, templates, and creative standards. Review work for consistency, support the development of less-experienced designers, and recommend improvements to creative workflows.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of professional senior-level graphic design experience across print and digital marketing channels, with a portfolio showing strong concept development, creative judgment, and design execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in graphic design or a related discipline.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, with advanced knowledge of visual communication, typography, layout, branding, print production, and digital channels.
  • Experience leading complex creative projects, coordinating cross-functional contributors, and managing multiple timelines and priorities. Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain creative decisions and provide constructive feedback.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, shared file-management platforms such as SharePoint, and project-management tools such as Asana or similar platforms.
  • A professional portfolio is required. It must identify your role and show relevant work across concept development, design execution, and final delivery, including multi-channel creative leadership and guidance or review of others’ work.
  • Assets include experience in B2B or integrated marketing campaigns, in-house or agency work, or industrial, manufacturing, safety, or other technical sectors.
