Join Fish’s Hub team in our fast-paced Human Resources Department as an Associate Human Resources Generalist. This role is part of The Hub, Fish’s remote-first group of professionals. Hub employees work primarily from home with no expectation of a regular in-office presence. This is a remote-first position, with a focus on candidates in MN, IL, TX, GA, and DE.

How Will You Make a Difference?

  • Assist the Generalist team and department leadership in delivering practical HR guidance and coaching to firm managers in a variety of HR-related areas including conflict resolution, performance management, coaching tools and fundamentals, retention strategies, and employee separations.
  • Partner with the Generalist team and department leadership to support day-to-day service delivery, including preparing materials, coordinating follow-up, maintaining documentation, tracking deadlines, and escalating more complex matters as appropriate.
  • Support firm policy administration, including drafting new policies and recommending updates to existing policies based on HR best practices, business needs, and legislative changes. Partner with the Generalist team to respond to related employee and manager questions.
  • Maintain firm-wide job descriptions, including partnering with the Generalist team and managers to develop new job descriptions and ensure existing descriptions remain accurate and up to date.
  • Assist with the operations staff performance review process, including responding to employee and manager questions, reviewing input, and helping ensure ratings and comments are consistent, equitable, and aligned with HR best practices and legal requirements.

What Will You Bring to the Table?

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a closely-related field, technical training, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1-3 years’ human resources experience in a professional services environment.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations related to employee management, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to successfully work independently as well as to develop quality team relationships and to work well within a team-oriented environment, whether leading or contributing to department initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the firm.
  • Ability to communicate information with diplomacy and tact while safeguarding confidentiality and assisting in conflict resolution.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Working knowledge of or ability to quickly learn HRIS and similar applications required for data entry, research, and reporting, along with the willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies as appropriate.

  • The estimated starting pay range is $59,000 - $74,000 per year. Final compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including education, experience, skills, professional background, and overall qualifications. The salary range for this position is consistent across all geographic markets.
