PROTECT, MONITOR, AND STRENGTHEN ENTERPRISE, CLOUD, AND AI-ENABLED TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS

Join Illumina Digital Services (IDS) and help protect enterprise platforms, applications, cloud environments, data, and AI-enabled systems through modern security operations, risk management, threat monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Working alongside experienced security engineers and technology teams, you will gain hands-on experience across vulnerability management, threat intelligence, insider risk, security monitoring, exposure management, platform security, and AI-assisted security operations while building a strong foundation for a career in Cybersecurity.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This role follows Illumina's hybrid work model and requires employees to work from the office a minimum of three days per week.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, development, and business teams on enterprise-scale security initiatives.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Support identification, assessment, prioritization, and remediation of security risks across infrastructure, applications, cloud platforms, data assets, and AI-enabled systems.
• Monitor security events, access activity, user behavior, platform configurations, and threat indicators to identify potential risks.
• Support vulnerability management, threat intelligence, insider risk, security posture, attack surface, and exposure management activities.
• Help secure AI-enabled solutions through AI application reviews, AI access controls, AI data protection, AI host security, AI network security, and AI monitoring activities.
• Support investigations, threat analysis, incident response, and AI-assisted security operations.
• Apply security best practices to improve resilience, compliance, risk reduction, and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate across teams to strengthen enterprise security capabilities.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We recognize that candidates may not have experience with every technology listed. We value curiosity, learning agility, problem-solving ability, and practical application demonstrated through academic projects, internships, hackathons, cybersecurity competitions, research, open-source contributions, or independent learning.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• Foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat management, and risk management practices.
• Familiarity with networking, operating systems, cloud concepts, and enterprise technologies.
• Understanding of vulnerabilities, threats, security monitoring, access management, or security controls.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ownership, adaptability, integrity, and commitment to continuous learning.

Preferred Exposure

Exposure through coursework, projects, internships, certifications, hackathons, research, or personal learning to one or more of the following is a plus:

• Security operations, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, insider risk, cloud security, attack surface management, or security analytics.
• Security tools such as vulnerability scanners, SIEM platforms, security monitoring, cloud security, or security automation technologies.
• AI security, AI governance, AI threat detection, behavioral analytics, AI-assisted security operations, or related technologies.
