As the world’s leading pluralistic Jewish teen movement, BBYO is constantly looking for creative ways to reach, inspire, and engage Jewish teens through meaningful experiences, powerful relationships, and partnerships that expand what is possible. The Associate Vice President, Partnerships will play a key role in building, managing, and strengthening BBYO’s strategic partnerships across the Jewish communal landscape, with a particular focus on congregations, clergy, synagogue movements, alumni, communal organizations, and other institutions that can help bring meaningful Jewish experiences to teens and families. What You’ll Do As the Associate Vice President, Partnerships, your responsibilities will include: Lead BBYO's strategy for engaging congregations and Jewish communal partners, cultivating relationships with clergy, educators, synagogue movements, alumni, and other stakeholders to increase teen engagement and organizational growth. Manage and deepen key partner relationships, creating opportunities for collaboration that connect more Jewish teens and families to BBYO programs, leadership experiences, and chapter communities. Identify opportunities for synagogues and congregational partners to incorporate BBYO into their teen engagement, leadership development, Jewish learning, recruitment, family engagement, travel, summer, and immersive experience strategies. Partner closely with BBYO (regional) Community Impact professionals to establish, strengthen, and sustain local congregational partnerships that support teen engagement, membership growth, chapter development, and program participation. Build scalable partnership models, resources, toolkits, presentations, and training materials that help synagogue and communal partners understand the value of BBYO and promote participation among teens and families. Maintain and activate a strong network of organizations, alumni, educators, thought leaders, and talent who can add value to the lives and interests of Jewish teens as part of the International Leadership Network (ILN). Work cross-functionally within the Movement Experiences, department including Jewish Enrichment, Teen Leadership, Passport, and Camp Leadership as well as across the organization with alumni relations, Marketing, Philanthropic Engagement, and regional teams to align partnership opportunities with BBYO’s programmatic priorities. Represent BBYO at conferences, rabbinic gatherings, synagogue movement convenings, professional networks, communal forums, and other spaces where BBYO can strengthen its visibility and relationships. Track partnership activity, engagement metrics, recruitment outcomes, program participation, and growth opportunities to measure impact and inform strategy. Use data, partner feedback, teen feedback, and evaluation to assess effectiveness, improve partnership models, and drive continuous improvement. Help identify new partnership opportunities that bring added value, expertise, visibility, resources, and credibility to BBYO’s teen programming and Jewish communal engagement work. Explore opportunities for philanthropic support, grants, sponsorships, and strategic investments that strengthen BBYO’s partnership strategy. Perform other responsibilities as assigned based on candidate experience and organizational needs. Success for the Associate Vice President, Partnerships will be measured by: Growth in the number, quality, and depth of active synagogue and communal partnerships. Increased synagogue-based referrals into BBYO membership, regional programming, International Convention, Passport, Summer Experiences, and leadership opportunities. Stronger local relationships between BBYO regions and congregational communities. Expanded BBYO reach into previously under-engaged congregational and communal networks. Increased teen participation, event attendance, program enrollment, and Jewish learning engagement attributable to partnership efforts. Development of practical, scalable partnership models that can be used across communities of different sizes and denominations. Strong feedback from clergy, educators, synagogue leaders, BBYO professionals, alumni, and community partners. Better internal coordination across departments around partnership strategy, partner engagement, and shared growth opportunities. Essential Skills for Making a Lasting Impact Our team has an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for innovation, creativity, and positive change. The Associate Vice President, Partnerships should bring: Strategic relationship builder with a demonstrated ability to cultivate and leverage partnerships Deep knowledge of the Jewish communal landscape, including congregations, teen engagement, leadership development, and Jewish education. Strong communicator and facilitator with the ability to engage stakeholders ranging from teens and families to clergy, educators, alumni, and communal leaders. Skilled collaborator who can build consensus and work effectively across departments, communities, and denominational lines. Results oriented leader with strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Data-informed decision maker who uses metrics, feedback, and evaluation to drive continuous improvement. Experience managing budgets, partnerships, and systems that support organizational growth and effectiveness including comfort with Microsoft Office 365, Salesforce, Airtable, and other systems used to manage relationships, projects, and outcomes. Experience and Qualifications The ideal candidate will bring: 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in Jewish communal service, congregational engagement, teen engagement, partnerships, program strategy, relationship management, business development, nonprofit leadership, or a related field. Demonstrated success building partnerships and managing external relationships that drive measurable growth or impact. Experience working with synagogues, clergy, Jewish educators, Jewish communal organizations, camps, foundations, schools, youth-serving organizations, or teen engagement initiatives. Experience designing or supporting scalable partnership models, partner resources, trainings, or engagement strategies. Experience supervising staff, consultants, projects, or cross-functional initiatives preferred. Familiarity with AZA/BBG, BBYO regional experiences, International Convention, summer programs, travel experiences, or immersive Jewish teen experiences preferred but not required. Education Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree in Jewish education, nonprofit management, organizational leadership, business, public administration, Jewish studies, or a related field preferred. Rabbinic ordination, cantorial ordination, or significant senior Jewish educational leadership experience is desired, but not required. Requirements Ability to travel nationally as needed, approximately 25%. Ability to attend major BBYO events, which may include Staff Conference, International Convention, Movement Experiences Team Retreat, Movement Experiences Leadership meetings, regional visits, and selected summer experience (2-4 weeks) Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support community engagement, partner events, teen programming, and major BBYO experiences. Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future. Ability to perform each essential duty with or without reasonable accommodation in accordance with applicable law.
