What are we looking for?

Skills Required

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Australian Public Practice.
  • Australian Accounting degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong experience preparing financial statements, tax returns, BAS, and IAS for individuals, sole traders, companies, trusts, partnerships, deceased estates, and SMSFs.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles, taxation laws, and business regulations.
  • Xero – Advanced proficiency: able to independently manage accounting records, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance tasks.
  • MYOB – Intermediate to Advanced proficiency: able to independently perform core accounting, reporting, and compliance functions.
  • Australian Taxation - Intermediate
  • BGL – Intermediate proficiency: experience with SMSF accounting, compliance, and reporting.
  • Strong workpaper preparation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently while collaborating effectively with the team.
  • Client-focused with the ability to understand client circumstances and contribute recommendations for review.

Candidates who are available to start immediately will be highly regarded.

What will you do?

  • Prepare financial statements and tax returns for various entities, including individuals, sole traders, companies, trusts, partnerships, deceased estates, and SMSFs.
  • Prepare IAS and BAS and complete Australian tax compliance requirements.
  • Prepare complete and accurate workpapers with appropriate referencing for review.
  • Review and analyze financial information to identify errors, risks, and areas requiring further review.
  • Apply strong knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting principles.
  • Manage workflow effectively and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist with client correspondence, tax research, and liaising with the ATO and other regulatory bodies as required.
