Australian-Qualified Clinical Coder (ICD-10-AM)

Job Description This is a remote position. About Us We are an established Australian healthcare services and technology organisation supporting specialist practices and day hospitals across Australia for over 30 years. Accuracy, compliance, and ethical coding are central to our work. We are seeking an Australian-qualified Clinical Coder who is currently based in Sri Lanka to support our Australian clients remotely. Role Purpose To deliver accurate, compliant ICD-10-AM clinical coding in line with Australian Coding Standards, ensuring high-quality outcomes for Australian healthcare providers. This is a hands-on Individual Contributor role with no people-management responsibilities. Requirements Key Responsibilities • Perform accurate ICD-10-AM, ACHI, and ACS Standards • Code day surgery and specialist episodes • Ensure compliance with current Australian Coding Standards • Maintain high levels of accuracy and audit readiness • Collaborate with billing, compliance, and Australian-based teams • Participate in quality reviews and continuous improvement Mandatory Requirements • Australian clinical coding qualification (ICD-10-AM) • Demonstrated experience using Australian Coding Standards • Strong knowledge of ACS & ACHI • Experience with Australian private hospital or day surgery coding • Excellent attention to detail and integrity • Ability to work independently and remotely Location-Specific Requirements • Candidate must be based in Sri Lanka • Ability to work Australian business hours or agreed overlap • Reliable internet and secure work environment Highly Desirable • HLT50321 Diploma of Clinical Coding or a Bachelor/Master of Health Information Management • Experience with audits or compliance reviews • Familiarity with Australian billing workflows • Experience with digital health systems How to Apply Please submit your CV and evidence of Australian ICD-10-AM clinical coding qualification.
