Automation Engineer

Role Description The part-time remote Automation Engineer will design, implement, and optimize automation solutions that support Ceramitec’s production and quality processes. Daily responsibilities include analyzing existing workflows, configuring control systems, and integrating automation technologies to improve efficiency and consistency. The role involves diagnosing system issues, coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve technical problems, and documenting configurations and procedures. The Automation Engineer will collaborate with production and engineering staff to ensure that automated systems support high product standards and reliable operations, while maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong Automation and Process Control skills to design, configure, and optimize automated systems.
• Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering for control circuits, instrumentation, and system integration.
• Experience with Robotics to implement and maintain robotic solutions in production environments.
• Proficient Troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues in automated and control systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics) or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with industrial control platforms (e.g., PLCs, HMIs, SCADA) and relevant software tools.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in manufacturing or materials industries, ideally ceramics or similar sectors, is beneficial.
