About Our Partner We are currently recruiting on behalf of our partner, a growing company within the fintech and payments space, building technology solutions that support secure and efficient financial transactions. Role Overview The Backend Developer will be responsible for building, integrating, and maintaining secure and reliable backend systems and APIs. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Java and Spring Boot, database management, API development, and transaction-based systems, with exposure to fintech or payment solutions being an advantage. Location: Abuja Work Mode: Hybrid Salary: ₦500,000 - ₦550,000 What You'll Do Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and REST APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies. Build and integrate APIs while working with relational databases, JPA/Hibernate, authentication, authorization, and secure API practices. Develop and maintain reliable transaction processing systems, including handling failed transactions, reversals, duplicates, settlement, reconciliation, and transaction integrity. Write, test, debug, and maintain production-ready code while supporting system performance and reliability. Collaborate with the CTO, MD, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure and scalable backend solutions. Who You Are 4–5 years of backend development experience, with strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot . Strong experience with REST APIs, SQL/relational databases, JPA/Hibernate, Git, authentication/authorization, testing, error handling, and transaction management. Experience with Node.js/TypeScript, Python, C#/.NET, or equivalent backend technologies is an advantage. Good understanding of payment flows, transaction processing, API security, webhooks, and secure software development. Experience with Docker, CI/CD, or cloud platforms is an advantage, with strong debugging and production support skills. Why Join Them?
