Show job description

BagginsHQ is seeking an experienced, commercially driven Product Manager to lead the market growth, customer acquisition and subscription performance of Baggins Education, our comprehensive cloud-based school management, Student Information System (SIS), Learning Management System (LMS) and campus operations platform.

Baggins Education helps schools, academies, colleges, universities and educational institutions digitalise their operations through an integrated platform covering student admissions, academic records, online learning, examinations, tuition billing, attendance, parent communication, campus transport, hostel management and AI-assisted teaching.

The successful candidate will take direct ownership of the product's commercial performance within their assigned market, targeting educational institutions seeking modern technology solutions to improve academic administration, institutional efficiency and learning experiences.

This is an individual contributor position with no sales team or subordinates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently identify, approach and acquire schools, academies, colleges, universities and educational institutions requiring education management software.

  • Develop and execute practical product growth and institutional customer acquisition strategies within the assigned market.

  • Promote Baggins Education through education-sector networks, school associations, institutional outreach, professional communities and strategic partnerships.

  • Present and demonstrate the platform's Student Information System, Learning Management System, admissions, examinations, attendance, tuition billing and campus management capabilities.

  • Convert genuine institutional prospects and free trial users into paying subscribers.

  • Build professional relationships with school owners, principals, headteachers, academic directors, university administrators, bursars and institutional decision-makers.

  • Identify challenges involving manual school administration, student records, academic reporting, fee collection and parent communication.

  • Assist educational institutions in understanding available subscription plans and selecting suitable packages.

  • Coordinate technical demonstrations and implementation discussions with the appropriate BagginsHQ departments.

  • Maintain institutional customer relationships, encourage subscription renewals and minimise cancellations.

  • Monitor verified subscription revenue, customer acquisition, retention and market performance.

  • Maintain accurate and verifiable records of prospects, engagements, demonstrations and commercial outcomes.

  • Gather feedback from educators, administrators and institutional customers to support product improvements.

  • Ensure accurate product representations and appropriately escalate institutional data protection, safeguarding and procurement requirements.

  • Independently achieve the Company's established verified revenue targets.

Important: BagginsHQ does not provide Company Leads for this position. The Product Manager is expected to possess education-sector knowledge, professional networks and commercial initiative necessary to independently identify and convert genuine institutional opportunities.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable professional experience in education administration, school management, academic operations, educational technology, institutional business development or related sectors.

  • Strong understanding of school and institutional operations, admissions, student records, academic administration, examinations and tuition management.

  • Practical experience in institutional customer acquisition, business development, SaaS subscriptions or commercial growth within the education sector.

  • Familiarity with School Management Systems, Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS) or education ERP platforms.

  • Established professional relationships within schools, universities, education associations or institutional networks, or proven ability to independently develop such relationships.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with school owners, principals, university administrators, academic directors, bursars and procurement decision-makers.

  • Understanding of educational institution purchasing processes, academic calendars, student data privacy and institutional decision-making.

  • Strong product presentation, negotiation, relationship management and customer retention skills.

  • Ability to independently develop and manage a commercial pipeline without a supporting sales team.

  • High standards of professionalism, accountability, integrity and commercial discipline.

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and provide verifiable revenue and customer acquisition reports.

  • Access to a reliable computer, stable internet connection and a suitable remote working environment.

Probation and Performance Requirements

Probation Period: 30 Days

During probation, the Product Manager must:
