Description Position: Barista (with Bartending Growth Opportunity) this is a hybrid position Location: Barlo at Hotel Erwin – Venice Beach, CA (off the lobby) Compensation: $25.00/hr + Tips Employment Type: Part-Time (4–5 shifts per week) About the Role: Barlo, the breakfast and lunch concept off the lobby at Hotel Erwin, is looking for an experienced Barista ready to grow into a hybrid Barista/Bartender role. This position starts on espresso and coffee service, with the opportunity to train onto our full bar and pick up shifts that combine both barista and bartending responsibilities — a great fit for someone who wants to build a broader skill set and grow within the company. Key Responsibilities – Barista: Prepare and serve espresso drinks, coffee, and other beverages to guest specifications Operate and maintain espresso machines and other bar equipment Take guest orders and accurately enter them into the POS system Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked coffee bar area Engage with guests in a warm, welcoming manner Stay knowledgeable about all menu items, specials, and dietary/allergy considerations Perform opening, closing, and side-work duties as directed Key Responsibilities – Bartending (as trained): Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with speed, accuracy, and professionalism Make menu suggestions and anticipate guest needs for full bar service Maintain a clean, well-organized, and fully stocked bar area Accurately enter all bar orders into the POS system and process payments Ensure compliance with all alcohol service laws, company policies, and safety standards Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, managers, and kitchen staff Why Join Us: Competitive hourly wage + tips Growth path from barista to full bar/bartending Energetic lobby-level work environment at Hotel Erwin Team-oriented culture with ongoing training and support If this sounds like the right fit, please reach out. anthony.pecos@wywhgroup.com Requirements Requirements: Minimum 2 years of barista experience required Interest in cross-training onto the full bar and taking on bartending shifts Open availability with the ability to work a combination of AM and PM shifts Food Handler's Certificate required (or obtained upon hire); RBS/Alcohol certification required for bar shifts (or obtained upon hire) Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for hospitality Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
