Credera

Job Function:

Account Management and Growth

Job Subfunction:

Sales and Client Operations

Job Description:

Are you an enthusiastic, talented bid manager that wants to be at the heart of winning multi-million pound deals in a rapidly growing tech company?  Then this might be the opportunity you’ve been seeking.

As a well-established technology and management consulting firm with exciting growth plans, Credera is constantly increasing the volume and percentage of work we win.  As we grow our bid function, we are now seeking additional Bid Managers to manage complex bids that range in value up to £10million. This is an exciting time to get involved as we professionalise our bid team to strengthen and scale our response capability.

If you are highly organised, skilled in bid management, and can craft top quality written responses, often under tight timescales, this could be the perfect role for you. Ideally, you will have experience of bid management in the technology services industry with a strong background in Public Procurement.

Here’s what you will do

As part of the core Sales Operations team, you will be a Sector aligned Bid Manager, responsible for managing technology bid responses with the sales teams.

Initially you will lead bid qualification with the sales team and appropriate SMEs, before shaping the bid timeline. You will assemble the bid team, run a bid kick-off, identify clarification questions to be submitted, and allocate bid writing to appropriate team members (some dedicated, some not). Throughout the process you will be scheduling and leading reviews, bringing all of the writing into a single response which adheres to client specifications, reporting progress, and escalating risks and issues.

You will usually be working on more than one bid concurrently. Timelines are often tight, particularly when relying on busy consultants for inputs, so the ability to work calmly and diligently under pressure is key, as is the ability to take bullet point information and craft top quality bid responses from it.

Tools at your disposal include a growing suite of bid management guides and tools, which can be reused / evolved as required.  Although there will be other Sector aligned bid managers who will be your peers, you will be expected to work collaboratively across all sectors as required, identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.

Rest assured; you will not be responsible for managing every bid we respond to but rather take responsibility for the most important, high pay-off opportunities where your professional skills will ensure we deliver the best response possible. We will look to you to provide leadership and guidance to other bid team members at Credera, helping develop their skills by delivering bid management training and assisting them as they deliver their bids.

This is a permanent role within our Delivery function. We consider flexible ways of working, that allow the best outcomes for our people and clients. Working closely with our clients is key to successful outcomes, and so you should expect occasional travel to Credera offices and client sites within the UK and internationally, as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

  • Owning the end-to-end bid process for multiple, complex bid submissions
  • Managing virtual bid teams with competing priorities and client-facing duties
  • Supporting the Bid Team in developing and maintaining a comprehensive Bid Library
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate records for reporting purposes
  • Ability and willingness to support colleagues across multiple sectors during peak periods
  • Using Emotional Intelligence to support, motivate and better engage individuals and teams

Who you are?

  • You have extensive Bid Management experience, preferably in the Technology Services industry, ideally evidenced by APMP membership / certification to at least Foundation level.
  • Excellent organisational skills including planning, bid document management, diary management;
  • Skilled at proactive risk management and mitigation including early and appropriate escalation of issues;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proven stakeholder management skills at multiple seniority levels;
  • Microsoft 365 Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) proficiency;
  • Project delivery / execution experience;
  • Experience of working towards tight deadlines and under pressure, often with competing priorities;
  • Innovative problem-solver;
  • Ability to prioritise workload;
  • Fast learner and self-starter;
  • Attention to detail.

Desirable skills:

  • Technology delivery experience, especially in Cloud, Data and Digital proposition areas
  • Awareness of, or interest in Technology, Public Sector, Financial Services & Insurance, Energy and Commercial trends
  • Bid management experience within a management consultancy
  • Fluency in an additional European language
