Bilingual Billing Specialist

SmartHire Latam is recruiting a Remote Bilingual Billing Specialist on behalf of one of our clients, an immigration law firm based in California.

When a client hires the firm, both sides make a commitment: the firm advocates for the client, and the client commits to the financial side of that representation. We’re looking for a bilingual English and Spanish professional who is comfortable having honest, respectful conversations about money and organized enough to keep 150 to 200 client accounts on track.

Position details

Schedule: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time

Compensation: $1,500 to $1,667 USD per month (gross), depending on your country of residence, plus the statutory benefits of your country

Employment: Formal employee through Deel (Employer of Record), not a contractor arrangement

Reports to: Operations Manager

What you’ll do

• Make outbound calls in English and Spanish about missed payments and overdue balances
• Understand what’s preventing payment and find realistic options within firm policy
• Secure clear payment commitments and next steps
• Manage a portfolio of 150 to 200 client accounts from engagement through final payment
• Keep invoices, payments, balances, and payment plans accurate in Docketwise
• Support trust account (IOLTA) entries and disbursements under attorney direction

What you need

• Professional English and Spanish, written and spoken
• At least 2 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, billing, or client accounts
• Comfort discussing money directly with clients
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow through
• Experience with IOLTA, law firm billing, or Docketwise is a plus, but not required
