About the Company
We're a boutique criminal defense firm based in New Jersey, founded in 2014 by two law school friends who wanted to practice law on their own terms. Our mission: treat people the way you want to be treated, and be the change you want to see in the world.
We handle every type of criminal matter in New Jersey, from traffic violations to first-degree murder: felonies, misdemeanors, DUI/DWI, drug, gun, theft, violent, and sex crimes, and restraining orders. We also represent crime victims and police officers facing disciplinary action.
Most of our clients are everyday people facing a serious charge for the first time, their lives suddenly turned upside down — though we also take on society's most serious cases, because everyone deserves a strong defense. We focus on Central and South Jersey and have built a strong reputation in the Spanish-speaking community.
We've handled over 50,000 cases and earned 600+ five-star reviews. Our Founding Partners are NJ Supreme Court Certified Criminal Trial Attorneys, a credential held by fewer than 3% of NJ attorneys. We're ranked in the Super Lawyers Top 100, approved by the Philadelphia Mexican Consulate, and featured in outlets like Yahoo News, the New York Post, and Court TV.
OUR COMPANY VALUES guide our team and shape our culture:
- ⚖️ Relentless, Fearless, and Aggressive Advocacy: In the courtroom, it's a blood sport — we take no prisoners.
- 🤝 Teams Win: We work together and have each other's backs, always.
- 📚 Learn from Everything: We mess up sometimes — when we do, we own it, ask what we learned, and move forward.
- 💙 Empathy, Compassion, and Integrity, Always: We stay mindful of what's really behind a hard moment, and show up accordingly, every time.
- 📈 "We Can Do Better" Mentality: Even when a client's ready to take the deal, we push for more if there's still room to get it.
- 🎯 Commitment to Excellence: Not perfection — excellence. It's the standard that earns our clients' trust.
- 🗣️ Communication Is Key: With clients and with each other — clear, honest, and consistent.
We're a hybrid organization with 15–20 teammates, including Attorneys, Paralegals, Intake staff, and Administrative staff. We're headquartered in Mount Holly, NJ. Attorneys work remotely one day a week, and we already have offshore remote team members — including a teammate in Peru supporting intake.
Our culture runs on trust, not micromanagement — show up reliably, and we stay out of your way. We hold huddles Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM ET to share wins and, on Fridays, what we're grateful for. We have zero tolerance for clients mistreating our team — no cursing, no yelling, no disrespect — and we always have your back. The pace is steady and serious, with plenty of banter and people ready to catch you if you stumble. Our standard: work hard, care deeply, bring your whole self to the team.
About the Role
We're looking for a remote Bilingual Legal Case Manager to manage the client experience and keep cases moving for Attorneys on our Superior Court team.
In this role, you'll be the glue between clients, families, Attorneys, and the court system—handling the day-to-day logistics so Attorneys can focus on the legal work. You'll call clients shortly after hire to introduce yourself and schedule their Attorney meeting, then help ensure the Attorney follows up within 48 hours with a "win." Those two touchpoints in the first 48 hours reflect the client experience we aim to deliver every time.
This role is growing as the firm evolves — we're moving away from a 1:1 Paralegal-to-Attorney model and using AI to work more efficiently, which means more room for a dedicated Case Manager to make a real impact. You don't need to know criminal law going in; we'll teach you.
Our IDEAL CANDIDATE brings 3–5 years of experience in roles like Case Manager, Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Client Services Coordinator. You move easily between English and Spanish, and reach for the phone before email. There's a weight off everyone's shoulders when you come in — you follow through on what's asked, and you'll chase down a busy Attorney who's dropped the ball. You know life is hard and nothing's handed to you, and you bring that grit to everything. Stressed clients don't drain you, they energize you — one calm conversation can change someone's day. You meet people where they are, without judgment, and hold space for someone in crisis without getting rattled. You genuinely fit in, the kind who shows up for Friday huddles and means it. You spot what's missing and fix it before being asked twice; when you slip up, you explain your thinking, learn fast, move on. You're the kind of person clients remember fondly long after their case closes.
Performance Metrics: Your performance will be measured by initial client contact within 24 hours of hire, clerical accuracy, time tracking consistency, and tasks and deadlines met.
Reporting Structure: You'll be on the Superior Court team, working closely with the Paralegal Manager, Attorneys, and Paralegals. This position reports directly to the Paralegal Manager.
You’ll be doing things like:
- Client & Family Communication: calling clients within 24 hours of hire to introduce yourself, schedule their Attorneys meeting, and set up the Attorney’s 48-hour "win" follow-up; sending proactive weekly updates so clients hear from us first; handling difficult or emotional calls with empathy; building rapport with new family contacts and working with however they prefer to connect — phone, Zoom, or in person; translating intake calls or ad-hoc conversations between English and Spanish as needed
- Attorney Support & Calendar Management: managing calendars for 3–4 Attorneys; scheduling client calls, court appearances, and discovery reviews; proactively flagging what Attorney need to do next so nothing slips; preparing briefing notes and case summaries; keeping Attorney focused on legal work by handling the logistics; occasionally joining a discovery review call at an Attorney’s request
- Legal Document Preparation: drafting client letters from templates; preparing motion shells with the right case details and formatting; formatting Attorney-drafted briefs with table of contents, citations, and firm letterhead
- Case & File Management: documenting client calls, emails, and tasks in Clio per our tagging conventions; uploading and tagging discovery; tracking discovery timelines and following up on unanswered requests, including drafting follow-up letters for Attorney approval; unblocking stalled files; confirming clients receive their own copies; maintaining internal practice-area playbooks; using AI tools to pull case summaries from Clio
- Time Tracking & Administrative Support: logging your own daily time in Clio; entering Attorney time when called in, including retroactive entries; using AI tools to support documentation and workflow
Skills & Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in roles like Case Manager, Paralegal, Legal Assistant, Legal Project Manager, or Client Services Coordinator
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with a neutral North American English accent (exceptional non-bilingual candidates considered on a case-by-case basis)
- Phone-first communicator—comfortable calling clients, families, and stakeholders rather than defaulting to email
- Mature and self-driven: knows nothing gets handed to you, takes ownership without needing frequent approval, and keeps files and cases moving without constant supervision
- Experience managing calendars, schedules, and competing priorities
- Empathetic and emotionally mature—calm and supportive with clients experiencing stress, fear, or frustration
- Genuine enjoyment of customer service
- Non-judgmental, especially in sensitive or high-stakes situations
- Strong attention to detail in documentation, correspondence, and formatting
- Strong, tested typing proficiency
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office/Suite
- Genuinely excited to learn new systems and tools, not just willing to
- A reliable computer with an updated Windows operating system
- A reliable internet connection
Bonus if you also have:
- Interest in or exposure to criminal law or legal processes
- Clio or Clio Grow experience and/or certification
- Comfort using AI tools for drafting, research, and workflow automation
- Sales training or client intake experience
- Video editing or social media content creation skills
- Familiarity with our tools: Clio, Clio Grow, Microsoft Office and Teams, Kenect, Zoom, Dropbox, and USA Phones (VoIP)
