Binding Authority Account Manager
Do you enjoy combining technical detail with strong client and market relationships? Then step into a role where you’ll work at the heart of Aon’s third party Delegated Authority business, driving quality, compliance and outstanding service!
This role is primarily office based but with the flexibility to work from home 1 or 2 days a week if required.
Aon is in the business of better decisions
At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.
As an organisation, we are united through trust as one inclusive team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.
What the day will look like
In the role of Binding Authority Account Manager, you will coordinate the daily management of nominated DUA contracts. You will follow line manager mentorship and work closely with our business producers to ensure excellent service for our Coverholders and their Underwriters. Key responsibilities include:
- Accurate preparation of DUA documentation (e.g. binding authority slips, endorsements and related documents).
- Collating, validating, and balancing bordereaux related to exposures, payments, and claims from Coverholders. This includes checking data quality such as completeness, accuracy, formats, and coding. Queries with counterparties are resolved, and issues are raised when necessary.
- Liaising with our supporting Billing and Claims Advocate Team to ensure all premiums, claims, commissions, and profit commissions (PCs) are paid on time. Coordinating or chasing payments when appropriate.
- Assisting in the integration process for new clients and new Underwriter entities, ensuring appropriate due diligence and ongoing compliance requirements are met.
- Assisting Clients and Underwriters, in conjunction with the team of business producers, on interpretation of clauses, available coverage types and ongoing service issues.
- Collecting and analysing relevant information and assisting in the preparation of market submissions and presentations for new business and renewals, including preparing/updating statistics, performing basic data pivoting and generating up-to-date reports.
- Using Lloyd’s systems such as DCOM, Atlas, Crystal and PPL, as well as Aon in-house systems (training will be provided on Aon systems).
- Working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework and complying with Aon UK Limited policies, including active participation in the management of risks (and completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.
How this opportunity is different
This position combines technical binding authority administration with a focus on data quality, detailed review and regulatory compliance across multiple Lloyd’s and Aon systems. It is also collaborative and market-facing, working closely with business producers, Clients, Coverholders and Underwriters to support both day-to-day servicing and the growth and onboarding of new business.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Experience in delegated authority or London Market insurance, with a solid understanding of binding authority contracts and Lloyd’s processes.
- Proven track record to manage and reconcile bordereaux (risk, premium and claims), with high attention to detail, data quality and MI/reporting.
- Confident user of Excel (including basic pivoting and data analysis) and comfortable learning/using market platforms such as DCOM, Atlas, Crystal and PPL.
- Excellent communication and relationship-management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with Clients, Coverholders, Underwriters and internal teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to compliance, due diligence and working within risk management and governance frameworks.
