Medik8 is transforming the industry with science-backed technology and our dedication to exceptional skincare products has built a reputation for excellence. Our goal is to continue to scale the business through global expansion, multi-channel distribution, and product innovation.
Our much-loved products are manufactured in-house and an exciting opportunity has arisen in our Manufacturing site.
The purpose of the Operations Compliance is to ensure the daily compliance of manufacturing operations and adherence to all GMP and quality checks required within the manufacturing areas. Your role is to verify that all compliance and quality control activities are correctly executed.
This is an oversight role—you ensure the checks are done, but you do not perform the manufacturing tasks yourself.
Please note, this role will be site-based, Monday to Thursday – 10pm - 8:30am
For this opportunity, we are offering between £28,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience. Plus Shift Allowance of £4000
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will play an essential part in upholding our rigorous quality and safety standards across our production lines. Your core duties will include:
Material & Component Verification:
Perform comprehensive checks on all raw materials, components, and packaging against specifications—verifying part numbers, descriptions, batch numbers, and expiry dates.
Conduct accurate weight checks, monitor tare weights, and perform routine scale verifications.
Equipment & Facility Readiness:
Carry out pre-operational visual inspections and routine equipment checks.
Enforce strict Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance across all working areas.
Perform and record standard instrument verifications and routine equipment calibrations.
In-Process Quality Controls (IPQC):
Execute thorough line clearances before and between production runs to prevent cross-contamination.
Monitor and conduct physical and chemical testing throughout the manufacturing process, including pH testing, viscosity measurements, specific gravity (SG), temperature checks, line speed, and visual/odour assessments.
Conformity & Batch Sign-Off:
Review in-process data against release specifications (pH, viscosity, specific gravity, appearance, colour, and odour).
Authorise formal line sign-offs and ensure all batch manufacturing records (BMRs) are completed accurately and in full compliance with quality guidelines.
Requirements & Qualifications
Relevant Background: Proven experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment (experience within cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceuticals, or FMCG is highly advantageous).
Quality & Compliance Focus: Previous experience in Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), or compliance-driven production lines, with a solid working knowledge of GMP standards.
Meticulous Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy when recording data, conducting testing, and identifying discrepancies or defects.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with line operators, production managers, and the wider technical team.
Thrives Under Pressure: Ability to work efficiently to deadlines in an active production setting while maintaining uncompromised quality standards.
Team Player: A collaborative mindset with the ability to integrate smoothly into a close-knit, high-performing team.
