We are seeking a detail-driven, proactive Bookkeeper (open to Junior or Senior level candidates, with duties scaled accordingly) to support core accounting, payroll, and statutory compliance functions for our Australian business partners. Operating 100% remotely during daytime business hours, you will manage daily transactional reconciliations, process end-to-end payroll (STP and Payday Super), maintain fixed asset registers, and assist with FBT workings, TPAR reporting, and activity statement lodgments.
Your Impact
Daily Financial Processing & Reconciliations: Perform daily bank reconciliations, record purchases and sales receipts, execute payments, manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, and maintain aging reports.
Full-Cycle Payroll & Superannuation: Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting and year-end finalization, leave entitlement tracking, Payday Super compliance, and updating employee records.
Fixed Assets & General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and update fixed asset registers, calculate depreciation entries, perform comprehensive general ledger reviews, and post adjusting journals as required.
Compliance & Statutory Support: Assist with preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS), Income Activity Statements (IAS), Taxable Payments Annual Reports (TPAR), and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) calculations.
Management Reporting & Data Integrity: Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly management reporting packs, ensuring all financial records are completely accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with relevant Australian legislation.
What You Bring
The Experience: Proven experience in bookkeeping, payroll processing, or transactional accounting for Australian businesses (level and task complexity scaled based on Junior vs. Senior experience).
Software Mastery: High proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Excel, with a strong command of modern accounting software workflows.
Compliance Expertise: Solid working knowledge of Australian bookkeeping principles, GST, Single Touch Payroll (STP), Payday Super rules, TPAR requirements, and basic FBT concepts.
Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, high data confidentiality, efficient time management under filing deadlines, and excellent written and verbal English communication.
