We are seeking Bosnian Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Bosnian is a priority Balkan language frequently requested in asylum and immigration cases. Responsibilities Provide real-time Bosnian ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings. Interpret accurately, neutrally, and confidentially in immigration, legal, and administrative contexts. Adhere to USCIS/DHS compliance and interpreter ethics standards. Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests. Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews. Qualifications Native or near-native fluency in Bosnian and English. 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, community, medical, or government preferred). Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness. Strong telephone communication and ability to stay accurate under pressure. Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay: $25–30/hour (rare-language premium available for urgent cases).
