We are seeking an experienced BPO Accounting Manager to support and help grow our restaurant and franchise accounting practice, with a particular focus on quick-service restaurant (QSR) and multi-unit restaurant operators.

This individual will oversee recurring accounting and financial reporting engagements, manage and develop accounting team members, and serve as a key point of contact for clients. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with hands-on experience in restaurant accounting systems and understands the unique accounting and operational complexities of multi-location restaurant organizations.

Strong working knowledge of Restaurant365 (R365) is highly preferred. Experience working with restaurant POS and operational platforms such as PAR and Toast is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Engagement Management

  • Manage outsourced accounting engagements for QSR, franchise, and multi-unit restaurant clients.
  • Serve as a primary day-to-day accounting contact for client controllers, CFOs, owners, and operational leaders.
  • Manage recurring accounting deliverables and ensure deadlines and client expectations are met.
  • Lead monthly financial review meetings and help clients understand significant financial results, trends, and variances.
  • Coordinate onboarding and accounting transitions for new clients, restaurant acquisitions, and new location openings

Restaurant Accounting & Month-End Close

  • Oversee the monthly close process across multiple restaurant locations and legal entities.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intercompany activity, and other recurring close schedules.
  • Oversee cash, bank, credit-card, and POS reconciliations.
  • Review restaurant-level P&Ls and investigate unusual fluctuations or operating variances.
  • Support accounting for food and beverage inventory, cost of sales, vendor activity, royalties, advertising funds, and other franchise-related expenses.
  • Ensure consistent accounting practices and chart-of-accounts mapping across restaurant locations

Restaurant Systems & Technology

  • Utilize Restaurant365 (R365) to support restaurant accounting, reporting, AP, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
  • Understand the flow of information between restaurant operational systems, POS platforms, banking systems, AP systems, payroll systems, and the general ledger.
  • Troubleshoot accounting integration and mapping issues and work with internal teams, clients, and technology providers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Support implementation and optimization of accounting workflows for new and existing clients.
  • Experience with PAR, Toast, or similar restaurant POS platforms is preferred

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and review the work of senior accountants and staff accountants supporting client engagements.
  • Establish clear responsibilities, deadlines, and review processes across the engagement team.
  • Coach team members on restaurant accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and accounting-system workflows.
  • Help develop standardized processes, workpapers, checklists, and accounting procedures that can be consistently applied across restaurant clients.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, standardization, and better use of technology

Quality & Process Improvement

  • Maintain strong quality controls and review standards across engagements.
  • Identify reconciliation issues, accounting discrepancies, and process gaps before they impact financial reporting.
  • Develop scalable processes that support clients as they add or acquire restaurant locations.
  • Partner with leadership to continue developing the firm's QSR and franchise accounting capabilities.
