Brand Designer (Contract)

We shape the identities of the most consequential technologies of our time—think drug discovery, affordable diagnostics, abundant energy, robotics, novel materials. Our clients are the world’s leading scientists and engineers building the future. We’re looking for a Brand Designer who can craft visual identity systems for our clients, inspired by their technologies and their visions. Maybe that’s you? What you’ll do Conceptualization & Moodboarding: At Bunsen, our priority is to create brands that don’t just look visually stunning, but also tell a deeper story about our client. Together with our Creative Director, you will translate insights into compelling visual metaphors to serve as the foundation for the brand. In addition, you’ll curate inspiration to align on look and feel. Brand Exploration: Before going all-in on a single idea, you’ll develop various brand directions to explore different concepts and visual styles. This includes logo, typography, color, layout, and graphics. You’ll join client review calls to present the directions with our Creative Director and absorb/apply feedback. Brand Refinement: After aligning on a clear brand direction, you will build out a cohesive brand system with various applications for social media, print, and digital. Brand Delivery: Once the final brand is approved, you will create and package brand guidelines, logo files, and graphics for easy use by other designers. Opportunity Time: This role is a project-based contract, approximately 10-20 hours per week. Location: We are remote-first but require a workday with ~3 hours overlap with EST (our meetings are typically within 12-5pm EST). Communication: We will primarily communicate asynchronously via Slack and Loom, with ~1 synchronous Zoom meeting per week per project.
