Role summary
Motto® is looking for a Senior Brand Designer to shape how our clients’ brands look, feel, and connect with the world. You’ll collaborate with our creative and strategy teams to develop distinctive brand identities and cohesive design systems for ambitious global brands. Through thoughtful storytelling, strategic thinking, and exceptional design craft, you’ll bring brands to life and create work that stands out.
The position will begin with a full-time 3-month independent contract as a trial period, giving both sides an opportunity to evaluate fit and explore a longer-term working relationship.
What you'll do
Develop original creative concepts and distinctive visual identities grounded in brand strategy.
Design cohesive identity systems across typography, color, symbolism, imagery, graphic elements, and art direction.
Take ownership of significant portions of creative projects, driving ideas from initial exploration through final execution.
Collaborate with Creative Directors, Strategists, and Designers to push creative thinking and elevate the quality of work.
Translate strategic insights into compelling visual expressions that bring a brand's positioning and personality to life.
Create compelling client presentations and confidently articulate the thinking and rationale behind your work.
Develop comprehensive brand guidelines and scalable identity systems across digital and physical applications.
Explore and integrate emerging AI tools and technologies to enhance creative exploration, streamline workflows, and expand creative possibilities.
Contribute to creative reviews, provide constructive feedback, and help elevate the craft and capabilities of the broader design team.
Who you are
5+ years of experience in brand identity design, ideally within a leading branding or creative agency.
Exceptional portfolio demonstrating original concepts, sophisticated art direction, and comprehensive visual identity systems.
Strong conceptual thinker with a distinctive creative point of view and the ability to develop ideas beyond the obvious.
Expert command of typography, composition, color, symbolism, and visual storytelling.
Confident working autonomously, taking ownership of creative challenges, and making thoughtful design decisions.
Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate and defend creative ideas with strategic clarity.
Highly proficient in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
AI-savvy and technologically curious, with hands-on experience using emerging creative tools to improve the quality, efficiency, and ambition of your work.
Strong creative instincts, cultural awareness, and curiosity about emerging design practices, technology, and trends.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage priorities and deadlines without compromising quality.
Collaborative, open to feedback, and motivated to help others produce their best work.
Motto® Culture
We’re a high-performing, close-knit, globally distributed team with big ambitions and high standards. We believe great work comes from people who think beyond the obvious, take initiative without being asked, care deeply about the quality of their work, and make the people around them better. Our culture is built on six core values: We Before Me, Do Big Things, Play Offense, Great Not Good, Radical Candor, and Glass Half Full. These principles guide how we collaborate, solve problems, make decisions, and hold ourselves accountable.
To thrive here, your mindset, work ethic, and how you show up for others matter just as much as your skillset and experience.
You're ambitious and driven to do exceptional work, challenge yourself, and continually raise the bar.
You take ownership by anticipating needs, solving problems, and moving things forward.
You thrive on momentum and adapt quickly to shifting priorities and circumstances.
You care deeply about excellence, quality, craft, and getting the details right.
You're curious and adaptable, embracing new ideas, technologies, and better ways of working.
You're an active contributor who speaks up, asks questions, shares ideas, and participates in shaping the work.
You make others better by collaborating without ego, welcoming candid feedback, and contributing positively to the team.
