Business Analyst

We are seeking a Business Analyst to support a modernization initiative within a public sector organization. This role will lead business analysis, requirements gathering, process documentation, and testing for a comprehensive system replacement project. The ideal candidate will work closely with the client department and multiple internal teams to validate business processes, design solutions, and ensure successful system implementation and adoption.

This position requires someone who can lead requirements validation and business process analysis to support a system modernization initiative replacing legacy capabilities with updated workflows and new functionality. The role encompasses facilitating workshops and interviews to gather and document business requirements, supporting system configuration and customization, guiding data migration activities, developing test cases and conducting functional testing, and creating project artifacts including workflows, use cases, requirements documents, fit-gap analysis, and business process models. The Business Analyst Level 2 will also support change management and training activities, work with business representatives on process redesign, and assist with other project deliverables as directed by project leadership.

This position is open to remote candidates however hybrid in St. John is preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years - business analysis experience in requirements gathering, process documentation, and system implementation
• 7+ years - developing and documenting statements of requirements for considered alternatives
• 7+ years - performing business analyses of functional requirements to identify information, procedures, and decision flows
• 7+ years - evaluating existing procedures and methods and documenting database content, structure, and application subsystems
• 7+ years - developing data dictionaries
• 7+ years - defining and documenting interfaces between manual and automated operations, external systems, and new and existing systems
• 7+ years - identifying candidate business processes for redesign, prototyping solutions, and providing trade-off analysis
• 7+ years - establishing acceptance test criteria with clients
• Experience with agile methodologies and project management lifecycle frameworks
• Experience writing test cases, executing functional testing, and identifying and prioritizing defects
• Experience developing training materials and supporting user training activities
• Experience with Oracle databases and APEX reporting
• Experience with .NET Framework environments
• Experience with data migration activities including data cleansing, conversion, and validation
