At Gallagher Bassett, we are committed to being there when it matters most because helping people through challenging moments is more than just our job—it’s our purpose. Every day, we assist clients in navigating complexity, supporting recovery, and delivering outcomes that make a real difference in people’s lives. Our team is composed of fast-paced fixers, empathetic experts, and outcome-driven professionals who care deeply about doing the right thing and doing it well. Whether managing claims, supporting clients, or improving processes, each team member plays a vital role in helping businesses and individuals move forward with confidence. We foster a culture that values teamwork, encourages curiosity, and celebrates the impact of our work. At Gallagher Bassett, you are part of something bigger—a team that shows up, stands together, and leads with purpose.

About The Role

Gallagher Bassett is seeking a Business Analyst to play a key role in the successful delivery of a major claims platform upgrade. This role acts as the critical link between business stakeholders and technical teams, responsible for understanding business processes, gathering and documenting requirements, and ensuring technology solutions meet business needs.

Working closely with Claims, Operations, Technology, and Project teams, you will analyze current processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and support the design and implementation of system enhancements. The ideal candidate will be highly data-literate, comfortable working with large datasets, and proficient in tools such as Excel and SQL to validate requirements, analyze data, and support decision-making.

A key responsibility includes managing stakeholder feedback, documenting changes, and communicating updates throughout the project lifecycle. You will also lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), creating test scenarios, executing test plans, and ensuring all platform changes are thoroughly validated before deployment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Business Analyst who enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology, driving change and delivering solutions that improve operational efficiency and user experience. The role is remote and can be performed from anywhere in the UK, with a preference for candidates located near Chelmsford or Ipswich.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to organize workload and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with colleagues in the UK and overseas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
  • Excellent planning skills and ability to keep tasks well-organized.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Confidence working with data across multiple systems.
  • Understanding of data security principles and controlled information delivery.
  • Experience as a Business Analyst is advantageous.
  • Knowledge or experience within the insurance industry is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
  • Ability to read and understand SQL queries.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, understand, and document new reporting requirements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between developers and stakeholders during the report development lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain detailed specifications for new and existing reports.
  • Test reports rigorously against agreed requirements and specifications to ensure accuracy.
  • Support or lead report deployment activities to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Support or lead Luminos report release testing to validate functionality.
  • Assist with report production and scheduling, including validation and quality assurance checks.
  • Support the Operations Manager in maintaining the report inventory.
  • Contribute to, and when necessary, lead reporting-focused projects to drive improvements.
  • Protect data integrity and ensure that information is accessible only to authorized users.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Comprehensive benefits programs designed to support your well-being.
  • Career development opportunities and ongoing learning initiatives.
  • A collaborative, people-first culture with accessible leadership.
  • The opportunity to engage in meaningful work with global reach and local impact.
  • Flexible working arrangements including remote work options.
  • Support for reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process.
