TTI, Inc., is in search of a Business Development Group (BDG) Sales Specialist, located in Guadalajara, Mexico. This role coordinates price and delivery quotes to customers that meet certain criteria via telephone, Internet, e-mail; proficient English and Spanish communication is required for this role.

What our Business Development Group (BDG) Sales Specialist do:

  • Manages a portfolio of customers in limited manufacturing environments, such as small contract manufacturers, maintenance/repair facilities, and other limited volume accounts. Continually qualifies customers by reviewing customer dynamics such as revenue, number of employees, square footage, contract awards, etc., and escalates any relationship for review that could benefit from being assigned to an Account Representative. Maintains organized customer information to support efficient task closure and responsive communication.
  • Provides price and delivery quotes within the customer’s timeline to customers within the assigned geographic territory by working with the product manager and the manufacturers representative to establish the most competitive pricing. Uses communication by telephone, fax, and email. For price quotes, the individual will utilize TTI suggested sale price and/or pricing history for that customer, or collaborate with Team Lead and branch stakeholders on deviations. Ensures quotes are delivered accurately, promptly, and with clear follow‑up to drive closure on open requests.
  • Sells products and services offered by TTI, including product lines, quality, and value‑added services. Sales are attained by building relationships and tailoring the sales approach to meet and inquire about customer needs. This is measured through monthly sales reporting, quality objectives, and regular management reviews. Maintains an organized approach to managing opportunities to ensure timely communication and progression toward closure.
  • Follows up on pending items with other internal departments, manufacturers, and customers to complete quotes, orders, or other requests. Maintains an organized system to keep all pending items visible and ensure timely follow-ups and task closure. Ensures customers receive timely responses and updates on all open requests. Escalates situations to management when unable to achieve closure from other parties so they can assist.
  • Collaborates with branch stakeholders and other internal resources to grow relationships. Communicates proactively on opportunities to strategize and provide high levels of service. Maintains consistent, timely updates so internal partners remain aligned on action items and deadlines.
  • Qualifies and expedites customer orders and customer expedite requests. Knows which line‑down situations to prioritize and escalate in order to improve delivery for customers. Sets reasonable expectations with customers on response time from suppliers and provides timely updates, regardless of whether supplier responses have been received. Monitors and ensures delivery date and product quality to meet customer requirements, maintaining an organized workflow to support fast resolution and closure.
  • Processes the customer’s order by entering it into the sales database for quote processing and delivery schedules. Requires an eye for detail, proofreading for accuracy, and maintaining quality expectations. Failure to process and review in a timely manner can result in loss of parts and factory lead time. This is measured by on‑time delivery and return material authorization (RMA) rates. Maintains orderly and timely order entry practices to avoid delays and ensure efficient closure.
  • Effectively utilizes all available reports and resources to review open orders, expedites, opportunities for additional sales, and margin enhancements. Proactively reviews these tools weekly at a minimum to ensure timely action and closure of outstanding items.
  • Expands product knowledge by utilizing all resources including product literature, factory representatives, product managers, sales managers, and other sales representatives to discuss product options with customers and sell TTI strengths. Maintains organized reference materials to allow for efficient and timely customer support.
  • Participates in the TTI Total Quality process by following defined policies and procedures to maintain an efficient sales cycle, following logical and systematic approaches with the goal of reducing sales errors and upholding the highest level of quality. This is measured by the number of lines shipped per salesperson and how many lines were on time and error‑free. Ensures tasks, corrections, and follow‑ups are closed promptly and accurately.
  • Increases the number of customers trading with TTI by delivering exceptional customer service and high quality. Responsible for setting up and servicing limited volume customers that are not already doing business with TTI. Grows relationships with customers received from Business Development Specialists, manufacturer leads, or other resources. Ensures customers remain active by maintaining timely outreach, organized follow‑ups, and ensuring closure on new‑customer setup and onboarding activities.
  • Appropriately quotes items that are Non‑Cancelable/Non‑Returnable (NCNR) and follows proper procedures to ensure documentation is kept on file. Maintains organized records for quick retrieval and timely communication to mitigate potential inventory write‑offs.
  • Provides management with information regarding sales, marketing techniques, new products, and market strategy by preparing forecast and activity reports on the account territory. Ensures deadlines for reports are met and the information is complete, accurate, and organized.
  • Works with the Regional Credit Manager to resolve customer credit issues by interfacing with both parties to resolve the issue and close the sale. Maintains organized tracking of open credit matters to ensure timely follow‑up and resolution.

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1 to 3 years of customer service/sales support experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is required with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English & Spanish.
  • Exhibits exceptional knowledge of company products and services.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills in both languages.
  • Exhibits strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Must be organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to calculate discounts, commissions, proportions and percentages.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence proficiently and professionally.
  • Reads, analyzes and interprets business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and make responsible decisions.
  • Possesses working knowledge of company policies, procedures and computer systems.
  • Ability to type 40 words per minute.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) at an intermediate level required.
