As we continue to expand our customer base and service portfolio, we are looking for an ambitious, experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing commercial team.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive, commercially driven Business Development Manager with proven experience in telecommunications, networking and Cisco technologies.

This is a hands-on, new-business-focused position for someone who thrives on prospecting, cold calling, building customer relationships and closing deals.

You will be responsible for driving customer acquisition, developing new business opportunities and growing revenue across ROCTEL's portfolio of managed connectivity, networking, cybersecurity and collaboration solutions.

The role follows a hybrid working model, combining office-based days at our Dublin headquarters, remote working and regular field-based customer visits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop an assigned portfolio of accounts, building strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities and driving account growth.
  • Identify and secure new B2B customers through prospecting, cold calling, networking and field sales.
  • Generate qualified leads, build a strong sales pipeline and consistently achieve revenue targets.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from initial engagement and customer discovery to proposals, negotiations and closing deals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, prospects and key business decision-makers.
  • Promote ROCTEL's Cisco-powered connectivity, networking, cybersecurity, cloud and collaboration solutions.
  • Conduct customer meetings, site visits and sales presentations, identifying solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations and marketing teams to develop proposals and support business growth.
  • Identify account development, cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and performance reporting.
  • Represent ROCTEL professionally at industry events, exhibitions and networking opportunities.

Essential Requirements

  • 5–10 years' relevant experience in business development, direct B2B sales, account management or customer relationship management.
  • Experience in the telecommunications, networking or managed IT services industry.
  • Knowledge and practical commercial experience with Cisco technologies and solutions.
  • Third-level qualification in Business, Sales, Marketing, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • Full, clean and valid driving licence, with willingness to travel for customer meetings and field sales.
  • Proven track record in new customer acquisition, cold calling, sales negotiations and achieving commercial targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional fluency in English and eligibility to work in Ireland.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a confident and commercially minded individual who enjoys opening doors, building relationships and winning new business.

The ideal candidate combines strong industry knowledge with a proactive sales approach, excellent communication skills and the ambition to contribute directly to ROCTEL's continued growth.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
  • Flexible hybrid working model combining office, home and field-based work.
  • Opportunity to join an established, award-winning and growing Irish technology company.
  • Exposure to leading Cisco technologies and enterprise networking solutions.
  • Professional development, training and career progression opportunities.
  • A collaborative, supportive and internationally diverse working environment.

How to Apply

If you have the industry experience, commercial drive and ambition to develop new business, we'd love to hear from you.
