Regional Business Development Manager – Midwest
Want a business-development role where you can shape a market and build something with real room to grow?
Curtiss-Wright is investing in regional growth and looking for someone to develop its pressure-relief valve business across the Midwest, while also recognizing control-valve opportunities that connect customers with our broader portfolio. You’ll have the autonomy to build an approach around your strengths, relationships, and local market, with support from an established industrial manufacturer and collaborative sales and technical teams. These high-visibility roles are an important part of Curtiss-Wright’s growth strategy, offering meaningful opportunity to expand your impact and career as the business grows.
LOCATION: United States – Midwest Region
SALARY RATE: $120,000-$150,000 Annually
Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based the Midwest USA region. Criteria such as the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.

YOUR CHALLENGE:
- Develop and execute a proactive regional business-development strategy focused on opening new accounts, expanding market presence, and creating sustainable growth in pressure-relief applications.
- Identify facilities and customer groups with untapped potential, including refineries, chemical plants, petrochemical facilities, and other process-industry end users.
- Build relationships with reliability, maintenance, inspection, engineering, pressure-relief, operations, and procurement personnel to understand customer needs and reach key decision-makers.
- Apply practical pressure-relief knowledge—including inspection, testing, repair, replacement, sizing and selection, and turnaround requirements—to identify customer needs and develop opportunities, often before a formal RFQ is issued. Also recognize control-valve needs where appropriate and coordinate with the broader Curtiss-Wright team to support customers across our valve portfolio.
- Work closely with Regional Sales Managers, existing channel partners, and Curtiss-Wright technical resources to develop new opportunities while providing appropriate support to existing customers and business.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- 7+ years of experience in business development, industrial sales, or a related customer-facing role.
- Established relationships within refining, petrochemical, chemical, or other process-industry facilities are highly valued, particularly with reliability, maintenance, inspection, and engineering stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in prospecting, developing customer relationships, and creating new business opportunities, alongside the ability to support ongoing customer needs in collaboration with the broader sales team.
- Strong understanding of pressure-relief valves or related industrial valve applications; working knowledge of control valves is also valuable. Experience with inspection, testing, repair, sizing/selection, or turnaround planning is an advantage.
- Ability to build credibility with customer stakeholders, identify decision-makers, and uncover pressure-relief needs early in the customer planning process.
- Self-directed and motivated to develop new markets, build a regional network, and create opportunities with limited day-to-day direction. Able to tailor the approach to the region, customer base, and opportunities while staying aligned with broader business objectives.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Regional Sales Managers, existing channel partners, and internal technical resources. Regional Sales Managers will continue to lead primary ongoing account management, while this role emphasizes market development and new opportunity creation.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned region to establish customer relationships, uncover needs, and develop new business.
