Regional Business Development Manager – West

Want a business-development role where you can shape a market and build something with real room to grow?

Curtiss-Wright is investing in regional growth and looking for someone to develop control-valve opportunities across Western U.S. industrial and refining markets, while also connecting customers with complementary pressure-relief solutions across our broader portfolio. You’ll have the autonomy to build an approach around your strengths, relationships, and local market, with support from an established industrial manufacturer and collaborative sales and technical teams. These high-visibility roles are an important part of Curtiss-Wright’s growth strategy, offering meaningful opportunity to expand your impact and career as the business grows.

LOCATION: United States – West region

SALARY RATE: 120,000-170,000 Annually

Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in West USA. Criteria such as the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.

BENEFITS: We Take Care of Our People

YOUR CHALLENGE:

  • Develop and execute a proactive regional business-development strategy focused on opening new accounts, expanding market presence, and creating sustainable growth.
  • Identify facilities and customer groups with untapped potential, including refineries, petrochemical facilities, chemical plants, and other process-industry end users.
  • Build relationships with I&C, reliability, maintenance, engineering, operations, and procurement personnel to understand customer needs, establish champions, and reach key decision-makers.
  • Use control-valve knowledge and an understanding of industrial applications to identify customer needs and develop opportunities related to maintenance, turnarounds, replacement, and new applications—often before a formal RFQ is issued. Where customer needs align, recognize complementary pressure-relief opportunities and connect customers with Curtiss-Wright’s broader valve capabilities.
  • Work closely with Regional Sales Managers, existing channel partners, and Curtiss-Wright technical resources to develop new opportunities while providing appropriate support to existing customers and business.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 7+ years of experience in business development, industrial sales, or a related customer-facing role.
  • Experience with control valves, industrial valves, process equipment, or related applications is preferred; familiarity with pressure-relief valves is also valuable. Candidates with strong regional relationships, exceptional networking skills, and a working understanding of control valves are encouraged to apply.
  • Established relationships within refining, petrochemical, chemical, or other process-industry facilities, with the ability to develop new connections and access key customer stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in prospecting, developing customer relationships, and creating new business opportunities, alongside the ability to support ongoing customer needs in collaboration with the broader sales team.
  • Working knowledge of control valves and industrial process applications, with enough familiarity with pressure-relief valves to recognize related customer needs and collaborate with technical specialists.
  • Strong networking, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the initiative to develop a market and the judgment to tailor an approach to the customers and opportunities in the region.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Regional Sales Managers, existing channel partners, and internal technical resources. Regional Sales Managers will continue to lead primary ongoing account management, while this role emphasizes market development and new opportunity creation.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned region to establish customer relationships, uncover needs, and develop new business.
