About the Offer

We are currently looking for a C++ Senior Software Engineer to join the team of one of the world's leading global investment banks. The project is delivered together with a large international IT services company. For this role, Optiveum is the recruitment and contracting party, which means you will sign the cooperation agreement directly with us.

You will design, implement and optimise high-performance, low-latency C++ components for exchange connectivity and algorithmic trading systems, supporting clients across leading European trading venues.

Key Details:
  • Rate: 125–170 PLN/h (B2B), depending on experience: 8–10 years: 125–140 PLN/h; 10–12 years: 135–160 PLN/h; 12+ years: 155–170 PLN/h

  • Work Model: Hybrid, 3 days per week from the client's office (non-negotiable), full-time

  • Location: Wrocław (candidates must live in or near Wrocław)

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and optimise low-latency C++ components for exchange connectivity and algorithmic trading

  • Apply end-to-end engineering practices: analyse trading requirements, deliver new functionality, build automated tests and maintain CI/CD

  • Ensure quality, security, reliability and regulatory compliance of the software

  • Integrate observability, monitor production, provide L3 support and address root causes of incidents

  • Use AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot in everyday work and automate repetitive tasks through MCP-based integrations

Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of similar experience

  • Modern C++: strong C++14/17 or later (C++20 an advantage), concurrency, memory management, data structures and algorithmic complexity

  • Linux development and debugging (GDB, shell scripting)

  • C++ unit testing and automated testing frameworks such as Robot Framework

  • Python for scripting, test automation and tooling

  • Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines and Ansible

  • L3 production support for business-critical systems

  • Confidence using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot

  • Fluent English

  • Polish or EU citizenship, or a permanent residence / work permit valid for at least 12 months

Also expected / strong advantage:

  • Low-latency engineering: lock-free data structures, kernel bypass (DPDK, Solarflare), cache-efficient programming, NUMA optimisation

  • Performance profiling: perf, Intel VTune, flame graphs, Google Benchmark

  • Hardware-level understanding: CPU caches, branch prediction, memory hierarchies, NICs

  • Financial market protocols (FIX, ITCH, OUCH, exchange native APIs) and trading systems (exchange connectivity, smart order routing, algorithmic execution)

  • MCP servers / AI workflow automation; monitoring with Corvil, Geneos and PCAP analysis

Recruitment Process:

  • One interview with the IT services partner, followed by 1–3 interviews with the bank

  • Technical tasks are done live: please have your programming environment set up and tested beforehand. The use of AI tools, coding assistants or code generators during interviews is not allowed

  • The selected candidate will go through a background check by an external company (HireRight), covering identity, right to work, education and employment history, so the dates and employers in your CV must be accurate

  • Your name in the application and CV must match your official ID document exactly (Polish citizens: please include all first names)

  • Candidates who took part in a recruitment process for this IT services partner or this bank in the last 12 months cannot be considered
