About the Client Our client is a business advisory and accounting firm based in Alberta, Canada — the largest independently owned firm of its kind in Southern Alberta, and recently expanded into eastern BC. They are growing their existing offshore team to support their Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) function. This role exists to keep client books accurate, reconciled, and audit-ready, freeing the local team to focus on advisory work. The Role As a CAAS Accounting Technician, you'll handle the day-to-day bookkeeping engine behind the firm's client accounts — from AP/AR processing and reconciliations to general ledger maintenance and payroll support. You'll work across a portfolio of client files, contributing directly to the accuracy and reliability the firm's advisory work depends on. Success in the first 6–12 months looks like owning your client files end-to-end: clean reconciliations, tidy books, and documentation that's always audit-ready — with enough command of the tools to flag issues before they become problems. What You'll Do Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions Perform bank, credit card, line of credit, and loan reconciliations Maintain the general ledger and post manual journal entries as required Assist in the preparation of GST/HST tax returns (preferred, not required) Support payroll processing and ensure timely, accurate payment to employees Maintain and organize supporting documents in accordance with company standards What We're Looking For 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Dext, and Double (Keeper) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team Nice to Have Experience preparing GST/HST tax returns Exposure to multi-client or multi-entity bookkeeping environments Why This Role You'll be joining Southern Alberta's largest independently owned advisory and accounting firm at a genuine growth moment, as they expand into eastern BC.
