The Role
We're seeking an experienced Senior Tax Preparer. This role is designed for someone who can independently execute complex tax-preparation assignments, spot issues soundly, and collaborate closely with the firm's tax leadership on client advice and final approvals.
You'll play a key role in managing complex U.S. tax preparation, delivering review-ready returns, and supporting quality control across franchise and small-business client engagements.
Location: Must be in The Philippines – Remote.
Environment: Philippines and International Teams.
Language: Advanced English (B2+ - C1).
Time zone: Monday to Friday – 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time.

You'll play a key role in managing complex U.S. tax preparation, delivering review-ready returns, and supporting quality control across franchise and small-business client engagements.

Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA is preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on U.S. public-accounting or professional tax-preparation experience, including business returns; demonstrated ability to independently prepare complex 1040, 1065, 1120-S, and/or 1120 returns and supporting workpapers; experience with multi-state filings, franchise clients, or multi-location/multi-entity businesses preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency with professional tax software, Excel, client communication, and managing concurrent deadlines; experience with Tax Dome, Drake, QuickBooks Online, Microsoft 365, and AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, and Juno); experience with tax workflow/practice-management platforms a plus.
- Characteristics: Strong understanding of business tax returns, reconciliations, and applicable federal/state filing requirements; sound issue-spotting and research ability; able to review preparer work and resolve review comments clearly; coach junior preparers and helps improve templates and review processes.
- Prepare complex federal and state individual, partnership, S-corporation, and C-corporation returns and related workpapers.
- Review Staff Tax Preparer work for completeness, accurate reporting, and consistency with source records, providing clear review notes.
- Research technical tax questions, document conclusions, and elevate planning opportunities or unresolved issues to the Tax Manager or CPA.
- Coordinate directly with clients to resolve open items, support IRS and state notice responses, and track filing, extension, and client-deliverable deadlines.
- Own assigned return workflows from document readiness through senior review and handoff for final approval, coaching junior preparers and coordinating with bookkeeping and tax administration teams.
