Cabinet Designer

Role Overview

Story Renovations is seeking an experienced Cabinet Designer to join our team. This role is responsible for creating accurate cabinet layouts, detailed shop drawings, and production-ready designs for kitchen, bath, mudroom, laundry, bar, and custom cabinetry projects. The ideal candidate has strong experience using 20/20 Design software, understands cabinetry construction and installation requirements, and can collaborate closely with project managers, designers, installers, and clients to ensure designs are both beautiful and buildable.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed cabinet layouts and elevations using 20/20 Design software

• Produce accurate cabinet shop drawings and installation-ready plans

• Develop floor plans, elevations, renderings, and cabinetry specifications

• Verify measurements and ensure all designs fit field conditions

• Design kitchens, bathrooms, closets, entertainment centers, bars, and other custom cabinetry solutions

• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and subcontractors to keep plans production ready

• Coordinate cabinet orders, modifications, and revisions with manufacturers and vendors

• Identify potential design or construction conflicts before production

• Support field teams with technical clarification during installation

Qualifications

• 3+ years of cabinet design experience preferred

• Strong proficiency in 20/20 Design software

• Experience producing cabinet shop drawings and cabinetry plans

• Understanding of residential remodeling and construction practices

• Ability to read architectural and construction drawings

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Experience with NKBA standards, 17 Squares, SketchUp, AutoCAD, or Revit is a plus

Compensation, Benefits & Retirement

• $80,000 – $90,000 base plus commissions and SPIFFs
