CAD Designer

As a CAD Designer at Aurecon, you will play a key role in delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions across a variety of infrastructure, buildings, energy, water, transport, and industrial projects. Working closely with engineers and multidisciplinary design teams, you will produce high-quality CAD drawings and documentation to support project delivery from concept through detailed design.

What will you do?

As our CAD Designer, you will:

• Prepare and develop 2D CAD drawings, plans, sections, details, and design documentation in accordance with project requirements and company standards.
• Support engineers and designers in producing accurate and coordinated design deliverables.
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design interfaces and clashes.
• Maintain drawing registers and document control procedures throughout project lifecycles.
• Incorporate design changes and revisions accurately and efficiently.
• Assist in quality reviews and checking processes to ensure drawing accuracy and completeness.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the adoption of digital engineering best practices.
• Support the transition and integration of CAD deliverables with BIM models and workflows where required.

What can you bring to the team?

We are looking for someone who has:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Drafting, Design Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in CAD drafting/design within engineering consultancy, infrastructure, buildings, industrial, or related sectors.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software.
• Experience producing detailed engineering drawings and construction documentation.
• Strong understanding of engineering drafting principles, drawing standards, and design coordination practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Desirable

• Experience with BIM tools such as Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, or similar digital engineering platforms.
• Experience working on infrastructure, transportation, water, energy, buildings, or industrial projects.
• Familiarity with ISO, client, and project-specific drafting standards.
