CAD Engineer (Mechanical Design)

Role Description The CAD Engineer (Mechanical Design) will work full time in a remote capacity, contributing to the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems. Day-to-day tasks include creating and updating 3D models and 2D drawings, preparing detailed technical documentation, and ensuring designs meet functional, manufacturability, and quality requirements. The role involves collaborating with engineering and production teams, reviewing design specifications, performing basic tolerance and fit analyses, and supporting project planning and design reviews. The CAD Engineer will also participate in continuous improvement efforts, help optimize existing designs for cost and performance, and maintain organized design files and revision histories.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Physical Design, with the ability to translate requirements into practical mechanical solutions.
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools, with experience creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings suitable for manufacturing in SolidWorks.
• SolidWorks CAD strong skills is a must.
• Relevant technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and welded assemblies, and the ability to design for manufacturability.
• Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setup while meeting deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language skills (e.g., Romanian, German, French) are an advantage.
• Experience with industry standards, basic tolerance analysis, and version control of design documentation is desirable.

• We are looking for PFA or B2B collaborations.
• The job is based on projects, this is not a full time position. (If there will be projects that request this type of collaboration this subject will be developed afterwards with you.)
• We are working completely remote - Romania based.
• Working completely flexible, you need to get job done. If the customer requests that you organize the time schedule, than we will need to clarify with him.
• SolidWorks is a must.
