Certification lead wooden wind turbine towers

Wind power is growing, in every sense of the word. Modvion designs and develops a patented modular wind turbine tower made of laminated wood, engineered to reach higher altitudes and unlock wind resources previously out of reach. Laminated wood, nature's carbon fibre, enables efficient logistics for tall towers while substantially cutting the carbon footprint of wind power.

Certification is a feedback loop for us: what we learn from certification bodies feeds back into product development.

As Certification Lead, you are the one hub for certification across Modvion. You facilitate, drive and coordinate the certification work, and act as our interface towards certification bodies and other external stakeholders involved in the certification.

This is a technical and interdisciplinary role. You plan, coordinate and keep the overview, while the technical answers come from the subject matter experts in the Product Development and Operations departments who own them. Your expert colleagues front the technical discussions with the certifiers, and you prepare, facilitate and follow up.

You work closely with the system owners and subject matter experts in product development and operations, the test & verification lead, and the project managers.

• Act as the one certification hub: facilitating, driving and coordinating the work with internal and external stakeholders

• Co-formulate the certification strategy together with the area experts and product owner

• Plan and drive the certification process, and identify and mitigate certification-related risks

• Enable cross-functional collaboration between product development, operations, test and verification, and project and product management

• Drive continuous improvement within the certification field

• Keep up to date on relevant standards and regulations and share the knowledge with your colleagues

You are an experienced technical and interdisciplinary certification professional and leader. You plan and keep the overview, you facilitate collaboration across functions, and you are comfortable being the single point of contact towards certification bodies and other external stakeholders.

• Experience of certification in the wind power industry or another regulated industry such as marine or aerospace

• Experience of leading certification processes, including submissions to and meetings with certification bodies

• Technical understanding to work with subject matter experts in design, manufacturing and test and verification

• Structured approach to planning, keeping the overview and following up

• Ability to identify and mitigate certification-related risks
