We're looking for a Channel Manager to help migrate our booking systems onto a new
platform, become the in-house expert on it once it's live, and take ownership of our OTA
channels, one of our top revenue streams.
About us and why this role exists
Sandemans Tours is the birthplace of the free walking tour. We operate tours in 12 cities
and promote tours in more than 80 others. Our operations and marketplace have grown
fast, and our current set of booking engines no longer matches how we work.
We're replacing them with a single new booking engine, with the migration running from
Q4 2026 to Q2 2027. It's the most significant systems change we've made, and it touches
every product, rate and availability rule we sell.
This role exists to make that migration a success, and to take over the day-to-day
management of our OTA channels so the team can stay focused on the transition. It
doesn't end at go-live: you'll stay on as the person who knows the new booking engine
best, maintaining and improving it, while owning and growing our OTA channels.
What you'll do
For the first few months, about two-thirds of your time goes to the migration and one-
third to our OTA channels.
Once the new booking engine is live, that settles to roughly half booking engine ownership and half OTA channels.
Booking engine migration (Q4 2026 – Q2 2027)
Audit our existing product content across the current booking engines: listings,
descriptions, rates, availability, inventory rules and media.
Map, clean and restructure that content to fit the new booking engine's data model.
Build and load products in the new system, then test them end to end, including
bookings, pricing and connections to sales channels.
Keep migration trackers up to date, flag gaps and inconsistencies early, and work
through them with our operations team and the platform provider.
Help document new processes and content standards so the setup stays clean after
go-live.
Job Description – Content Manager (Junior/Mid)
Booking engine ownership (after go-live)
Become our in-house expert on the new booking engine and the go-to person for
questions about it.
Maintain products, rates, availability and settings so the system stays accurate as our
offer evolves.
Set up new products and channels, and keep content standards consistent.
Troubleshoot issues with bookings, sync or connectivity, and work with the platform
provider to resolve them.
Spot opportunities to use the system better: new features, automations and cleaner
processes.
OTA channel management(ongoing)
Take over day-to-day management of our listings on OTAs GetYourGuide, Viator and
Freetour.com, with more channels to come.
Keep content, pricing and availability accurate and consistent across every channel.
Handle channel connectivity and mapping, including moving connections over to the
new booking engine.
Be the main point of contact for OTA account managers.
Monitor channel performance (conversion, rankings, reviews, revenue) and turn it into
improvements: better content, new listings, promotions and placement opportunities.
Over time, build the strategy to grow this revenue stream, from optimising what we
have to opening new channels.
What we're looking for
Must-haves
At least 2 years of experience in content management, e-commerce operations,
channel management or a similar role.
Fluent English and Spanish, written and spoken. Half our portfolio is in Spanish, and
you'll be the team's reference for that content.
Strong attention to detail: you notice when a price, date or description doesn't add up.
Comfortable working with structured data and spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets)
at volume.
Organised and autonomous, able to run several workstreams remotely and keep others
informed.
Available during European working hours.
Nice-to-haves
Experience in the travel, tours and activities or hospitality industry, or a genuine
interest in it.
Hands-on use of a booking engine, reservation system or channel manager.
Experience with OTAs or online marketplaces, from the supplier side.
Previous involvement in a system migration or data migration project.
Basic copywriting or SEO skills for product listings.
Additional European languages.
Why join us
Be there when it matters. You'll join as our most crucial systems are rebuilt, and help
shape how they work for years to come.
Real ownership, early. You'll take over one of our top revenue streams, own it, and
decide how it grows.
Learn the industry from the inside. Booking systems, distribution, pricing and OTA
partnerships: the core mechanics of travel commerce.
Room to grow. After the migration, you become the go-to expert on our booking engine
and grow into channel strategy and wider content ownership.
Remote and flexible. Work from anywhere within European timezones, with a small
team that trusts you to deliver.
