About the role

We are looking for a hands-on Chief Accountant with practical experience in international telecommunications, particularly International Voice / VoIP and carrier settlements.

This role combines Ukrainian accounting and tax responsibilities with international payments, telecom billing reconciliation and financial control. You should understand both the accounting treatment of international transactions and the economics behind voice traffic.

Working with management and colleagues responsible for billing and operations, you will help turn billing data, invoices and payments into accurate accounts and clear financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Accounting and reporting: Maintain accurate accounting records, invoices and supporting documents, including service acceptance certificates where applicable. Prepare relevant Ukrainian financial and tax reports and control accounts receivable and payable.
• International payments: Handle cross-border settlements in USD and EUR, including SWIFT transfers, supporting bank documentation and compliance with applicable foreign-exchange control requirements.
• VAT and cross-border services: Determine the appropriate VAT treatment and place of supply for telecommunications transactions, including export-of-services considerations where applicable.
• Carrier settlements and billing reconciliation: Reconcile operator and customer invoices against billing data and call detail records (CDRs). Investigate discrepancies in traffic volumes, rates and charges, and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Financial control: Monitor cash flow, voice traffic margins and profitability by destination, customer and service. Identify payment risks and explain discrepancies between billing, accounting records and actual cash movements.
• Regulatory coordination: Understand the financial and accounting implications of applicable Ukrainian telecommunications requirements, including those of Ukraine’s electronic communications regulator (НКЕК). Coordinate with legal specialists where necessary.

What we are looking for

• Practical accounting or finance experience within an international telecom, wholesale voice or VoIP business, including hands-on involvement in carrier settlements.
• Strong knowledge of Ukrainian accounting and taxation, with practical experience in VAT, cross-border service transactions and foreign-currency payments.
• An understanding of international voice transit and how traffic volumes, rates and billing periods translate into revenue, costs and margins.
• Confidence working with accounting software, spreadsheets and telecom billing exports, with the ability to trace discrepancies back to their source.
• English sufficient to read contracts and financial documents and communicate with international partners.

What success looks like

Accounting records and reports are accurate and timely. Operator and customer balances are reconciled, and discrepancies are explained and resolved. Management has a clear view of cash flow and service profitability, while payment, billing and tax risks are identified early.

Location and working arrangement

This is a remote position based in Ukraine.
