About the Position
Arcadia is seeking an accomplished and visionary Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead our Marketing department, driving the organisation’s global visibility and advancing the reach and impact of its programs and initiatives. As the CMO, you will be responsible for designing and executing dynamic marketing strategies that support Arcadia’s mission to provide education and promote art, enhance brand recognition, and engage diverse global audiences. You will oversee marketing campaigns, digital outreach strategies, audience engagement efforts, and brand development, with direct line management responsibility for two senior marketing managers, each leading specialised sub-departments. You will work closely with these managers to establish innovative and data-driven marketing policies, foster creativity and excellence, and ensure alignment with Arcadia’s strategic goals. This role will involve close collaboration with the Chief Communications Officer (CCO) to ensure that marketing efforts align with the broader organisational messaging and communications strategy. Additionally, you will contribute to Arcadia’s executive team by offering insights into emerging marketing trends, audience behaviours, and innovative outreach methods, positioning Arcadia as a leader in both education and the arts. Your expertise in marketing, particularly within non-profit or mission-driven organisations, will be instrumental in navigating the complexities of engaging diverse stakeholders, expanding Arcadia’s audience base, and amplifying its global impact in education and art.

Key Responsibilities
As the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), you will play a pivotal role in driving Arcadia's global visibility and advancing its mission to provide education and promote art through innovative and strategic marketing leadership. Your responsibilities will include:
Strategic Marketing Leadership:
- Develop, implement, and oversee marketing strategies that align with Arcadia’s vision, mission, and organisational objectives. Provide forward-thinking marketing counsel to the executive team, ensuring Arcadia remains at the forefront of innovative outreach and audience engagement.
Brand Development and Campaign Oversight:
- Oversee the creation and execution of impactful marketing campaigns that enhance Arcadia’s brand recognition and position it as a global leader in education and the arts. Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all marketing platforms and initiatives.
Digital and Audience Engagement Strategies:
- Lead the development of data-driven digital marketing strategies to grow and engage Arcadia’s diverse global audience. Utilise analytics and insights to optimise marketing efforts, measure success, and refine future campaigns.
Skills and Competencies Required:
Marketing and Strategic Expertise:
- Extensive experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies, particularly within non-profit or mission-driven organisations is highly desired but not mandatory. Proven ability to align marketing initiatives with organisational goals and deliver measurable results.
Creativity and Innovation:
- Demonstrated expertise in crafting innovative marketing campaigns and audience engagement strategies. A creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and adapt to changing market trends.
Analytical and Data-Driven Thinking:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret audience data, assess campaign performance, and make informed decisions to optimise marketing efforts. A results-oriented mindset with a focus on long-term impact.
Qualifications
- A master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field from a university. Professional extra certifications are highly desirable.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing strategic marketing initiatives and teams. Experience in the nonprofit sector, particularly with international or mission-driven organisations, is highly desirable.
- Proven expertise in leading and managing marketing teams, including senior marketing managers or directors. A demonstrated ability to foster a culture of innovation and creativity while driving measurable results.
- Extensive knowledge of digital marketing strategies, analytics tools, and audience engagement techniques. Experience in leveraging data to optimize campaigns and inform future marketing decisions.
- Strong experience in brand management, including the ability to develop and maintain consistent and impactful organisational messaging across diverse platforms and global audiences.
- Fluency in English (CEFR C1) is required.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with executive leaders, communications teams, and external partners to ensure alignment between marketing strategies and organisational goals.
- Comfortable with part-time commitment, contributing 8–10 hours (20%) per week, with availability for remote work, selecting your own working hours, and the flexibility to visit the Geneva office once a month for administrative tasks (highly appreciated but not mandatory).
