Job Description
This is a remote position.
Our client is a global advisory business in the energy industry, operating across North America and Europe. They are looking for a single technology leader accountable for everything technical in the business: the systems the company runs on and the platforms their clients use directly.
This is a broad role in a company of roughly 300 people. The technology estate is small enough that the leader stays hands on, and significant enough that the decisions matter commercially.
What you will own
- Enterprise IT and operations across multiple countries: network, cybersecurity, endpoints, service desk, identity and access.
- Internal business systems, including Dynamics 365 CRM and Finance & Operations, and the reporting stack.
- A portfolio of client-facing platforms across two regions, covering maintenance, roadmap and the connectivity between them.
- AI and automation adoption, working directly with business teams to map processes and introduce tooling that supports growth without proportional headcount increase.
- Technology cost, vendor relationships and managed-service arrangements.
- A distributed technology team across several countries.
What we are looking for
- Experience leading technology in a mid-sized organisation, covering both internal corporate systems and client-facing products.
- Strong Microsoft estate background: Azure, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, M365.
- Genuinely hands on. Builds and uses modern tooling personally rather than only sponsoring it.
- Demonstrable experience managing vendors, licensing and technology cost.
- Comfortable operating across multiple countries and time zones.
- A practical, business-first approach. This is not an environment for heavy process or top-down IT governance.
Useful but not required
- Exposure to data platform work: Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Fabric, Power BI.
- Experience in a business that has recently changed ownership or become standalone.
Energy sector experience is preferered not required.
