Whilst Casualty experience is preferred but candidates who have some Finpro claims handling experience will also be considered. This role offers real technical depth, meaningful stakeholder engagement, and the chance to develop your expertise in a dynamic, forward-thinking claims environment

Key Responsibilities

Claims Management

  • Manage a portfolio of casualty claims from notification through to resolution, ensuring timely and well-reasoned outcomes
  • Assess coverage, liability, quantum and reserving requirements with accuracy and commercial awareness
  • Develop and implement claim strategies appropriate to the complexity and exposure of each matter
  • Maintain accurate claim records and management information in line with internal standards
  • Ensure compliance with internal guidelines, delegation authorities and regulatory requirements

Technical Analysis

  • Review and analyse liability evidence, expert reports and legal opinions to inform claim strategies
  • Provide clear recommendations on coverage, liability and claim settlement
  • Assist with litigation management and dispute resolution processes
  • Identify and pursue recovery and subrogation opportunities where appropriate
  • Escalate significant or complex matters as required, with well-reasoned recommendations

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with brokers, insureds, underwriting colleagues and external service providers
  • Instruct and manage external legal counsel, investigators and other experts
  • Participate in claim review meetings and settlement discussions
  • Communicate claim strategies and developments clearly, professionally and with confidence

Data, Technology & AI

  • Leverage data, analytics and technology tools to support claim decision-making and portfolio insights
  • Use AI-enabled tools and digital solutions confidently to improve efficiency, identify trends and enhance claim outcomes
  • Apply sound judgment when using AI, validating outputs and ensuring decisions remain evidence-based and compliant
  • Contribute to the adoption of emerging claims technologies and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Embrace new ways of working, including AI-assisted research, summarisation, workflow automation and knowledge management

Known for its collaborative spirit and commitment to continuous improvement, the team fosters a culture where curiosity, accountability and innovation are genuinely valued. You will be supported with ongoing coaching, technical training and exposure to sophisticated claims matters that will accelerate your professional growth.

About You

You are a curious, driven and commercially aware professional who takes ownership of your work and brings sound judgement to complex situations. You communicate with confidence and clarity, build trusted relationships with ease, and thrive in an environment where no two days are the same. You are not afraid to ask questions, challenge assumptions or escalate when needed — and you bring a genuine commitment to doing the right thing for clients and colleagues alike. Whether you come from a legal or claims background, you are eager to deepen your technical expertise and grow within a globally respected organisation.

We Are Looking for Candidates Who Meet These Requirements:

  • Legal qualification with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in insurance, litigation or defendant practice; OR 2–3 years' experience managing casualty, liability or general insurance claims
  • Sound understanding of negligence, liability and damages principles, with the ability to apply these practically to real claim scenarios
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex matters and develop clear, evidence-based strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to a range of audiences
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities autonomously, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail

These Are Additional Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in public liability, product liability, construction liability or Finpro claims
  • Prior experience working for an insurer or law firm in a claims or litigation capacity
  • Strong understanding of insurance policy interpretation and coverage analysis
  • Exposure to litigation and dispute resolution processes
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled claims tools, digital workflows or data analytics platforms
  • A collaborative mindset with a track record of building trusted relationships with brokers, insureds and service providers
