Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Closet Design Consultant to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will combine creative design skills, technical knowledge, and strong communication abilities to develop customized closet and storage solutions that meet clients’ needs. This role involves translating client requirements and measurements into functional 2D/3D designs, recommending suitable materials and configurations, preparing accurate quotes, and ensuring designs meet company standards before production.

Key Responsibilities

• Custom Closet Design: Create functional and visually appealing closet layouts and 2D/3D designs based on client requirements, available measurements, and space constraints.
• Client Consultation: Understand clients’ storage needs, preferences, budgets, and design goals to recommend suitable custom solutions.
• Space Planning & Measurements: Interpret room dimensions and project specifications to develop practical designs that maximize available space.
• Product & Material Recommendations: Recommend appropriate cabinetry configurations, finishes, accessories, hardware, and storage features based on client needs and project requirements.
• Quoting & Pricing: Prepare accurate project estimates and quotes based on design specifications, materials, and selected options.
• Design Accuracy & Quality Assurance: Review designs, measurements, and specifications to identify errors and ensure projects meet company standards before production.
• Client Communication & Follow-Up: Communicate design recommendations, explain proposed solutions, address questions, and coordinate revisions as needed.
• Coordination with Internal Teams: Work with sales, design, production, and installation teams to ensure designs are complete, accurate, and feasible to manufacture and install.
• Design Documentation: Maintain accurate project information, design revisions, specifications, and customer records in the company’s systems.

QualificationsMust-Haves

• Educational Background: Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Design Experience: Experience in interior design, custom closets, cabinetry, space planning, or residential storage solutions.
• Technical Design Skills: Ability to interpret measurements and create or review 2D/3D layouts, elevations, and design specifications.
• Customer Service & Communication: Strong English written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand client needs and explain design recommendations clearly.
• Sales & Consultation Skills: Ability to recommend appropriate solutions, present design options, prepare quotes, and guide clients through the design process.
• Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and accuracy when handling measurements, material selections, pricing, and project documentation.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to develop practical design solutions while considering space limitations, functionality, budget, and manufacturing requirements.
• Availability: Consistent availability during business hours to communicate with clients and coordinate with the internal team.

Nice-to-Haves

• Direct experience with KCD Software or similar closet design software.
• Working familiarity with Zoho CRM or other CRM systems.
• Experience designing custom closets, walk-in closets, built-in storage, or cabinetry.
• Background in residential interior design or home improvement sales.
• Experience preparing quotes and coordinating projects with manufacturing or installation teams.
• A portfolio demonstrating custom closet, cabinetry, or residential storage design projects.

Work Setup & Schedule

• Position Type: Full-time, remote
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST
• Hourly Rate: $9.00–$11.00 per hour
• Work Setup: Fully remote, with availability required during Eastern Time business hours.
