Summary

Seeking an execution-focused, technically proficient Manager of Cloud Services to lead the day-to-day engineering and operations of our multi-cloud ecosystem across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Cloud Architecture & Engineering, you will lead a dedicated squad of cloud, DevOps, and platform engineers tasked with translating high-level architecture designs into robust, production-grade deployments.

You will manage the implementation, maintenance, and reliability of our enterprise container platforms (GKE, AKS, OpenShift, and native Kubernetes), operationalize infrastructure for AI models and agentic workflows, and drive hands-on GitOps and IaC practices. This is an active, technical leadership role requiring direct participation in code reviews, pipeline automation, disaster recovery execution, and operational support.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Blueprint Execution: Translate multi-cloud architectural frameworks into production-ready infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

  • Container Environment Provisioning: Implement and standardize cluster topologies across Red Hat OpenShift, GKE, AKS, and upstream Kubernetes per architectural guidelines.

  • AI Runtime Infrastructure: Deploy and support execution infrastructure for machine learning and agentic AI systems (e.g., configuring GPU/TPU nodes, model serving runtimes like vLLM/Triton, vector database clusters, and secure runtime sandboxes for agent execution).

  • IaC Authoring & Review: Write, review, and maintain production Terraform modules, Helm charts, and raw Kubernetes/Kustomize manifests.

  • GitOps Delivery: Manage and optimize automated GitOps pipelines using ArgoCD or Flux to ensure version-controlled, continuous deployments across staging and production clusters.

  • Internal Platform Enablement: Maintain CI/CD pipelines, container registries, and self-service templates enabling software engineering and data science teams to deploy microservices smoothly.

  • Cluster Lifecycle Execution: Coordinate and execute rolling cluster version upgrades, worker node pool patching, and OS maintenance across multi-cloud Kubernetes fleets with zero service disruption.

  • Capacity & FinOps Tracking: Monitor resource consumption, configure cluster autoscalers (KEDA, Karpenter), implement pod resource quotas, and track daily compute costs across cloud providers.

  • Vulnerability & Compliance Remediation: Enforce container base image hardening, automate CVE scanning (Trivy, Grype), and ensure runtime admission controllers (OPA/Gatekeeper/Kyverno) adhere to enterprise standards.

  • Backup Automation: Implement, test, and manage automated backup routines for Kubernetes cluster states and persistent storage using tools such as Velero or Kasten.

  • Model & Artifact Protection: Ensure secure, regular backups and snapshot validation for persistent AI datasets, model weights, and state stores.

  • Incident Management & Escalations: Serve as an operational escalation point for L2/L3 production incidents, directing troubleshooting for container, network, and cloud outages.

  • Telemetry Operations: Manage centralized logging, metrics, and tracing stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Datadog), configuring actionable alerting rules and dashboards.

  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Lead post-incident retrospectives, track action items to resolution, and implement self-healing automations to avoid recurrence.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Multi-Cloud Administration: Hands-on operational experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (VPC/VNet configuration, IAM roles, cloud storage, security groups).
  • AI & Agentic Workload Enablement: Practical experience deploying and managing infrastructure supporting AI/LLM workloads, containerized inference runtimes, or AI agent toolsets.
  • Infrastructure as Code & Templating: Advanced proficiency writing and maintaining Terraform code, Helm charts, and native Kubernetes manifests.
  • GitOps & Automation: Practical experience configuring and debugging GitOps tools (ArgoCD, Flux) and CI platforms (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
  • Observability: Strong working knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry collectors, and centralized log aggregation tools.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of managing technical teams and delivering enterprise cloud infrastructure services.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Typical Experience

  • 7 to 10 years of relevant IT experience that shows consistent progression, and at least 5 years hands-on technology and team leadership experience.

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Educational requirements may vary by geography.

  • Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

    • Certifications:

      • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

      • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration

      • Associate or Professional Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect/SysOps, Azure Administrator, GCP Cloud Engineer)
