Commercial Manager

Spiecapag has delivered large-scale pipeline infrastructure and construction projects across Australia and the Asia Pacific region for more than 20 years. With new projects and continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial, contractual, financial, and procurement functions across major infrastructure and construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial strategy and contract administration activities across major projects
• Ensure all contractual obligations, notices, claims, variations, and correspondence are managed effectively
• Drive project profitability through robust forecasting, cost control, and financial management
• Manage project budgets, cash flow, cost-to-complete forecasts, and margin reporting
• Identify commercial opportunities and risks and provide timely recommendations to support decision-making
• Negotiate commercial agreements and subcontract packages
• Ensure best-practice procurement processes, supplier due diligence, and compliance with governance requirements
• Develop and mentor commercial team members
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders
• Support project leadership with strategic commercial advice and reporting

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Construction, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business, or similar
• Extensive commercial management experience on major projects
• Strong contract administration and cost management expertise
• Excellent negotiation and leadership skills
• Strong knowledge of commercial risk management and project controls
• Proven experience leading commercial teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels
• Advanced Excel and project financial reporting capability
