About the Company:

An established Newcastle law firm with a strong regional and national reputation, acting for well-known household names and institutional lenders across commercial real estate and finance.

Role Summary:

If you are a real estate lawyer looking to balance specialist finance with broad commercial property work, this role provides a real mix between secured lending and general real estate matters. Joining an established practice in Newcastle, you will work directly alongside multiple partners. You will inherit an active, reputable client base, giving you immediate access to high-calibre files and close partner support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of secured lending instructions on behalf of prominent lenders, giving you an established client base from day one and direct exposure to household-name institutions.
  • Advise on broad commercial property transactions including landlord and tenant matters and development files, allowing you to maintain and broaden a comprehensive technical skill set.
  • Collaborate directly with multiple specialist partners across the department, offering you senior visibility, close mentorship and guidance on complex, high-value transactions.
  • Lead client communication and negotiation across your files, giving you day-to-day autonomy while building your personal market reputation.
  • Manage an established caseload while contributing to business development, allowing you to sharpen your commercial acumen and expand your professional network.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales, ideally with 2 to 4 years of post-qualification experience in commercial property.
  • Proven experience handling secured lending transactions alongside core commercial property matters.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact confidently with commercial clients, institutional lenders and colleagues across the firm.

If this role isn’t quite right, it’s still worth speaking to one of our specialist team, as we may be working on something that hasn’t hit the market yet.
